Don’t get why the Benn fight is in Liverpool? Doubt they care much for him up there and there’s just been a card there. Surely it would have been better off in London?
A bit about this card. Had originally heard whispers about certain fights to be on this card and seen Hearn say on IFL 2/3 weeks ago he was announcing “tomorrow” and still nothing. Since then the arena has pretty much sold out without any of these local fighters in decent match ups and the rival show on Sky seems to have gone to **** so it’s running without any competition. Probably going to get the bare minimum.
One benefit Eddie sometimes gets from doing such an obscene number of interviews (you have to give him a degree of credit for the hours he puts in) and making himself available to many smaller platforms too is that it's hard to keep track of what he says, and he can sometimes get away with saying different things in different interviews just because of the volume he does, and the quick succession he does them in. One of his favorite tactics is using the old 'we are announcing tomorrow', or 'there will be an announcement on Tuesday' in one interview, then not mentioning it in the next 2-3 and ultimately announcing nothing which was probably the plan all along. It's quickly forgotten as within that same week he will probably do another 10 interviews, and go into different topics, and get asked so many questions things do get lost in the mix.
Have just seen a 15 second commercial for DAZN Boxing and it both starts and ends with clips of Canelo. Has DAZN secured the rights to Canelo's next fights ?
No but if they used their actual fighters it would start with Johnny Fisher and end with Terri Harper.
It's on the verge of fake marketing. None of us really know where Canelo (or AJ) are boxing next time.
DAZN's social media channels tweet about fights on other platforms most of the time, they're trying to fool people into thinking they're the home of boxing.
Don’t mind that. Hate platforms that pretend a fight didn’t happen or doesn’t exist because they don’t host it. Sky is the worst for it, obviously it’s to their benefit but if you’re watching sky sports news I want to see the Arthur v Yarde results or whatever.
Go on the platform you can see all of Canelos biggest fights in full. You can’t see that on any other platform z. When showing Canelo on the advert are they showing the fights they have on their platform or showing upcoming fights? if it’s the first one I take it they are marketing their content
No that's not true at all. DAZN just decide to cover the sport of Boxing, not DAZN boxing. They will want the social media and platform to grow with boxing fans regardless whether the fighters they talk about are signed to DAZN or not. If they can get enough people viewing content even other promotions will use dazn to advertise there own shows on other platforms.
