First off, we'll have the rare occurance of Dokes being in great shape and clean. Floyd, always came in great condition so no difference there Dokes, the bigger guy AND speedy hand speed to match Floyd's almost. So let's have 15 rounds, no 3kd rule and Mills Lane ref.
Dokes at his best edges Patterson, otherwise Floyd wins a strong decision. We never truly seen the best of Michael.
Pretty decent matchup,,I'd probably go with Patterson as he was more battle tested. Dokes ain't Liston , and he doesn't hit like Ingo either so while Dokes could have some success I think Floyd doesn't go away and takes a close UD 9-6,,8-7 type fight
Floyd could put his best work in here and get himself a decision. But what's not totally out of the question, is Dokes getting an Ingo type win over him. Bolt from the blue, as he did against Weaver. I'll say Dokes chin takes Floyd's shots better than the other way around.. Perhaps.
Thinking about this what you say, Floyd getting himself a decision. That's not out of the question either. Floyd using those fast hands catching Dokes in. Maybe Floyd getting dropped, which he wasn't unused to, but carrying on to get the win.
