He is also a 28 year old man with a wife and children to support. Losing the belts in a valiant effort might win him accolades for a week or so but he will have to face the consequences for the rest of his life.

I have a hard time seeing any promotor convincing Kambosos to avoid people.

Part of this is true, however when you have all the belts you will continuously be put in mandatories and that then gives you no option.

let’s say they order Rivera as WBA mandatory next. GK to then gets paid £1-1.5m in a fight that is no walkoever and could kiss goodbye to his $10m he gets for Haney or Davis.

GK is better off taking the deal to fight Haney now but tie in promotionally as a back up should he lose.

for instance take a fight vs Haney in Australia for $8-10m with options on two further fights at a minimum of $1m a fight if he loses. This is something Matchroom will likely offer him as he can be the face of DAZN Australia which has just launched. DAZN will likely request matching options his next fight if he wins.

that way he still gets his tickover money following the bigger cash out fight. If he wins then he can play everyone off for another mega payday

    Agreed.

Haney, as I've stated forever, is overrated and overhyped.

GK is tough, born tough. Haney will wilt.

I'd love to see GK take his soul.

After the incredible effort Kambosos put forth he better have a softer touch for his first defense. It'd be asking a lot for him to mentally get back to the high level he performed at. Plus in Australia he can get big purses with huge crowds,, provided Australia hasn't locked down the whole population due to covid panic.

And to be fair, I don't think anybody would begrudge a new champion a gimme or a softer touch as his first defence. The fact that he wants to go after the other belt holder right away is more surprising than not.

True, but, people still queued up to see Holyfield fight even when he didn't have a belt. People still love Rosado and he's way worse p4p than Kambosos.

By "people" you mean a few boxing fans. He hasn't made a lot of money.
An American HW Olympian vs Australian LW.

Kambosos isn't known well even in Australia. To attract any attention he has to be promoted well. Losing his belts in his first defence would wreck all plans.
DiBella isn't an idiot, he will try his best to convince Kambosos.

I beg to differ Kambosos is a big hit in Australia. Kambosos is also young enough and to be frank, hes good enough to not take the kind of punishment that will hurt his career in the long run. He'll be alright.

Tim Tszyu is well known and he will have a hard time filling stadiums. Kambosos has to be built up.
Lol. Nobody cared until he won and now they are paying attention. Look at Australian coverage before the fight. Kambosos will have trouble filling half a stadium.

Haney is not winning in Australia, you can take that to the bank.
