Do you get nervous while watching a huge fight?

If I don't particularly care who wins I feel pretty detached and unemotional. If I do care I can be literally shaking as the fight is about to begin- especially if the fight could end suddenly with a big punch. It's about getting to know and warm to certain fighters (and other athletes). I'm kind of feeling nervous for them. And I could be just listening to live radio commentary. It can be similar with football (England in Euros or World Cup) or athletics (Coe and Ovett at Olympics 40 years ago...) It can almost be torture. I sometimes tell myself not to follow the build-up the the nest big contest so closely as that makes the nervousness much worse. I'm not a big fan of any club but it gives me a taste of what they go through weekly...

I was a huge Tony Sibson fan. I saw him fight live plenty of times.
I did get incredibly nervous watching him. He was/is very local to where l live, maybe that explains why.

Back in the day, it used to feel like my heart was going to jump out my chest before and during a big fight. Not anymore.

 

It's one of the best parts! The thing about boxing is that the competition can end at any time, very different from almost all other sports.

 

I get excited for a big fight but sadly once the fight starts it’s usually a big let down from the hype.
