Diaz won 2 rounds, Haney dominated the fight although there were many close rounds. No special effects and no power from Haney.

Haney won a bunch of "competitive but clear" rounds but was seriously buzzed at least three times in the fight, including the latter rounds (again).

Unless this boy learns to hug like a bear, he's just a glass on the edge of a table waiting to be shattered.

    Accurate analysis.

Diaz really nailed him in the 12th too.

i dont think so. jo jo was catching him with that left hand cause haney couldnt keep his right hand by his chin. ryan has one of the prettiest and deadliest left hooks around, and its his front hand, too close to see if he cant even see jo jos looping shots. tight little hook inside will put him on bambi legs. and ryan is only an inch in reach shorter, but an inch taller.
im not seeing the progression in devin that he should be showing. he was timed by linares. caught him at the end of a flurry by looking for the extra punch when they traded combinations. devin can dodge 2 or 3 in a flurry, but the 4th catches him frozen. and he didnt learn to use his legs to not be there when the 4th punch comes. jo jo was successful in the same way as linares.
and he started out with a very tight guard, glove protecting chin, then gradually dropped the hand to his chest. might have been jo jos left hooks to the body he was now protecting from instead of his chin, so had to gamble on where he might go, but it still shows a chink in the armor. which the most talented fighters will exploit. i think ryan stops him. only cause of the effect hard shots seem to have on him. makes me suspect he dont recover well from punishment. i have no doubt ryan has the speed to land his left hook, and i dont think haney hits hard enough to dissuade ryan from trying till he lands it.

Back. Rewatched GK va Teo. That’s one of my favorite fights ever. Love when a tool …. With a tool daddy no less gets put in his place. When GK Haney gets made I think George is gonna win big. Stoppage.

Yeah but his mental is weak. Boxing is 90% mental, 10% physical. If his mental isnt fully there, theres no way he can win on his physical skills alone.

i dont know about them figures, but i get your point. hes a pampered kid suddenly getting bombarded by man ****, hes reacting like what he is. i dont think its that serious, just fear of responsibility. but who knows, maybe he does break.

I mean the physical part is the easiest part, but if your mental game is weak you end up looking like oliver mccall in the lennox rematch. I think garcia ha some work to do before he can be taken as a threat again.

Compubox stats shows the match as competitive as it actually was, and let's be honest, it wasn't that hard to keep track of. I mean, look at those dreadful ass jab connect rates from Haney. 2 out of 22, 0 of 23, Christ!

Stop being so easily wowed and misled by flashy but obviously blocked shots.:deal:

    This. Garcia won't fight Haney.

You ask Haney to fight Kombosos tomorrow and he would. You ask Garcia to fight Kombosos in 6 months and he would say no thanks.

I'm not seeing this "Haney" was rocked and hurt by Diaz. He never looked in trouble.

i also think serge the two fights since the gamboa stinker Haney is trying to be more aggressive and sit down on his punches and we’re hearing stuff about man strength but we’re really not seeing it and it’s actually leading to him getting touched up more it’s like he gets complacent and greedy starts trying to trade a little to much and we’re now seeing how he doesn’t really react well to being hit back.

haney needs to accept the fighter he is especially when he moves up in weight stick to the jab one two and keeping range not this let’s trade stuff.

jojo struggled to get haney consistently on the ropes but he was still able to rough him up at times and he was the smaller fighter and not even a big puncher at 126.

I had it 116-112 in favor Haney. He was more fluid and less forceful with his punches last night then he was against Linares. Hearn has matched him well against Diaz and Linares, and this certainly will help him with his development.

If he can't get the Kambosos fight next he should definitely move up in weight. The weight is definitely deterioating Haney's performances and causes the so-called fragileness many people are claiming.
