The BT commentary after the fight did make me laugh. Straight away they were calling for and trying to set up a trilogy.... There's absolutely zero need for a trilogy. The 1st fight was close but Yarde completely took him apart on the weekend.
Mentally looked off. The Yarde camp won the camp from press conference. Pat Barrett uncharacteristically lost his head a bit before hand. Yarde was on it this time around, Arthur looked a bit lost in the occasion. The pressure was on this time, last time around it wasnt. Unfortunately i think Arthur reached his ceiling beating Yarde first time, he has nothing there to suggest he can beat the other top guys in the UK.
I understand he's had a few issues outside of the ring but I was very surprised with how he caved in the fourth, he was just a punch bag. People were questioning the heart of Dubois but nobody seems to be questioning Arhtur's, to me it just looked like he'd had enough and it made Yarde look better than he probably is.
Arthur boxes like someone that doesn't like a fight. Even his last bout was lacklustre and it seemed he'd rather be anywhere but that ring. I knoe its easy for me to say that while I'm eating crisps and drinking pale ale on the sofa. But I'm not the one claiming to be a fighter
For a comeback fight, I'd like to see Arthur up against someone like Chad Sugden rather than a random European fighter.
I thought at the time the count/stoppage seemed premature, which wouldn't have been out of keeping with the other nonsense on show that night,- but there was no protest from Arthur or his camp. Very disappointing, given that Yarde still seems to me a very one dimensional boxer with obvious flaws that I expected Arthur to be able to exploit. Glad I didn't have anything on this fight.
Manning was being sent up there by a spoof TV show called eyespy, that circle was the discrace because the producers told Manning kids were taking that as a drug, the circle was "cake" a new drug on the streets that was a fooking disgrace according to that stupid blob.
I thought the reaction of Barratt and Arthur after the fight said it all. They were behaving like best friends with Tunde and Yarde and to me it looked like they more than satisfied. There was no disappointment on there faces at all. Arthur came to lose and put Yarde over.
Arthur disappointed cos I thought he planned to quit as soon as he got hurt. He knew he was in for a hard night and did what he could to make his exit as comfortable as possible. However I was there watching and I wasn’t that impressed with Yarde either. Yes he threw his shots when he had chance and got through eventually but his defence is shocking and I think against a world class fighter he will come unstuck again. He is exciting to watch though so hope he gets there one day but he’s by far the best prospect in the world.
You were lucky to miss the drivel being spouted afterwards about Yarde's 'world class performance'. I don't dislike him, he showed his heart against Kovalev and there's a lot to like about the lad, but the excess of hype that surrounds him is something I could do without.
He just didn't want to engage or throw his hands. I hope he comes back and manages to fight the top domestic fighters.
