Shakur has some confidence, after he sparred loma and he was his last opponent, Loma was tired and he gave him some good rounds. Loma should get his shot at tittles first, than he can go down to 130, beat Shakur, Valdez and retire after that.
I'd be surprised if he threw Stevenson in that deep just yet. While he may very well see that as a fight to make later on down the line when Loma is a bit older and more faded to boost Stevenson into that P4P bracket, it's not a fight I think he'll try and seriously make any time soon. He's just throwing Loma's name out there now to help built Stevenson's profile.
Stevenson has said that he is willing to fight Lomachenko at 130 only. By March-April 2022 Lomachenko's TR contract ends. Could Arum manage to make this fight between then and now?
Floyd needs to stop hiding Davis from Loma. I'd hate to see Loma and Stevenson facing each other while Davis keeps being protected.
I like Stevenson and hope this fight doesn’t happen. A loss on Stephenson’s record will give Tank the excuse he needs to duck him. Once Stevenson acclimated to 135 (when he moves up) he will beat Tank and Haney if Haney is still at the weight. Stevenson is good, I hope they don’t rush him.
Tank is already ducking him. I do think Stevenson should have a couple more high level fights before he fights Lomachenko and i don't want the promoters to rush things but i want the fight to happen soon. Lomachenko isn't getting any younger
For me that looks like Arum telling Shakur "don't mess with my business".Stevenson wanted Valdez, now Arum is threatened him with Lomachenko. Of course Shakur is not an idiot and he don't want that fight.I guess he will be more quiet in future for unification with Valdez and noone will put him against Lomachenko.
great fight. i think shakur is the real deal. i would love it at 130, which i think may be lomas best weight. shakur would learn so much about top competition and so much about himself in this fight, win or lose. and i think it may eventually become lomas top win, when shakur is done. i want kambosos, tank, garcia, haney or shakur next for loma. anything else will be a let down. loma should clean up 130, while clearing a path to the belts at 135 again. i think he can float between the 2. fight 3 times a year and go after achievements. do what you can still do that nobody else can do or has ever done. thats what people remember.
