Wach was stopped but not because he was KOd. Dude has never even been dropped. Chin of iron.

A far less wartorn version of Chisora was blasted out by Haye within 5 rounds and a less wartorn version of Wach was stopped by the lighter punching but relentless Miller and Bakole. The best excuse for not stopping Wach (which Makhmudov will do with ease) is that Whyte was in terrible condition. Povetkin was beyond shot to bits and medically unfit to fight. Sub-6 foot bridgerweight Rivas wasn't really one of the top 10 HW's and recently struggled badly with an unknown Canadian cruiser but he might have a good chin. Parker has a good chin, though he was concussed by a headbutt and has since been dropped within the first 10 seconds by Chisora's overhand.

Short notice Helenius got KO'd by the pastry chef and the football player in 6 and 8 before and after, yet Whyte couldn't do it over 12. Short notice Dave Allen got TKO'd by Ortiz in 7, Whyte threw the kitchen sink and couldn't do it over 10.

Mad, isn't it, when the WBC decide to stick their ****ing oar in. Whyte was number one when Wilder was defending against genuinely awful competition, WBC "oh yes, that's fine."

Tyson Fury is trying to make the fight everyone wants to see in Usyk and the WBC immediately order the Whyte fight.

It's beyond bizarre, it really is. Just terrible.

Yes but he can, and has been stopped.
    Not by Whyte though.

I think legal aspects might have forced their hand this time.

Chisora landed more power punches, Usyk landed many more jabs. If the judges felt that Chisora was landing the harder, more eye-catching shots, they'd be inclined to give a close round to him. Hence 7-5 Usyk was their score.

If you want to see someone have no problems with Chisora watch Fury-Chisora 2. Usyk had plenty of problems, as he did against pressure fighter Nistor in the WSB.

4 of Wilder's last 5 defences (including when he lost the title) were 2 goes against Ortiz and Fury each.
    When did Whyte become #1?

Can't say i'm particularly interested in their legal troubles.

In fact, the fact that the WBC has legal troubles denies us the best fight in the division means about as little to me as can be imagined. It's just yet another example on how much better the sport would be if the entire office fell into the sea. And went on fire.

Seeing as his opposition is not especially good or hard to stop, there are three possibilities:

    1. Whyte's power is considerably overrated
    2. Whyte's worried about his suspect chin getting clipped so he fights with a lot of caution
    3. Whyte's physical attributes, athleticism and skills are lacking so he can't deliver his power consistently and effectively

    It's far more a case of 3 than 1 or 2 imo.

From what I can gather he became #1 in November 2017, the same time Stiverne got obliterated by Wilder.
So, Fury, Ortiz and Breazeale received shots at Wilder since.
Only Breazeale of those could be considered bad.

But from that position, the solution is easy. Fury simply dumps the belt and does what he can to get Usyk and AJ to follow him.

Yeah, they could have ordered Whyte instead of Ortiz, nobody would have cared, didn't. They could have ordered Ortiz instead of Breazeale, everyone would have liked it, didn't. They could have ordered Whyte instead of Fury III, everyone would have been fine with that, didn't.

Fury tries to make the fight everyone wants to see, immediately order Whyte.

Not sure what point you're trying to make here, but to summarise:

    That's ****ing ****.

Historically, this "solution" is pretty rare.
