I agree with you Amsterdam. If Mijares was fighting in a higher weight, he'd probably be top 5 in most lists.

Well, I hear that Pacman is retiring next year to run for political office in the Philippines in 2010. If that comes to fruition, I would say if he gets past his stiffest challenge on July 26th, Cotto may be there. In addition, Pavlik, and some unknown undisputed lower-weight class champion would be contending for #1 P4P.

Pac become P4P #2 because he's winning and knocking out Legends while moving up in weight. Mijares can't even KO a 115 pounder. I don't think he can even is compete at 122. He's luck will ends with Donaire.

After Pac, #1 P4P will be Pavlik.

Probably Brian Minto when he kills Wlad in a role reversal of Rocky 4 and becomes the first HW since Iron Mike to be ranked number one Pound for Pound.

His 3 losses came earlier in his career. They play absolutely no part in determining his P4P rating in the future. Idiotic point.

sure, sure, sure. in the next three years, a lot of good guys will climb up to his division. its too early to drum up his greatness. hes good, but his division is RELATIVELY weak at the moment. wait until he gets a-class competitions in a very competitive division before you say hes destined to be P4P king.:patsch

    #1 In 17 Years...? Uncle Rogers 5 year old(@ 147)
#1 in 32 Years...? Wlad & VK will adopt a son together and raise him to be Heavyweight Champ.
#1 In 67 Years...ya know thats a little far off to to get a good feel for who will be on top. I'd have to watch things for the next 10 year in order to accurately predict a pfp champ...

If Cotto can stay on top and show longevity in his game he will definitely be #1. If Cotto losses or slips in performance and Mijares cleans out his divisions then he will be #1. Also if Mayweather comes back beats Cotto and another 147lb fighter he will once again be #1.

If Gamboa were to have been introduced into Pro boxing a few years ago when 130lbs was hot, he could have had a shot at being #1. But as you say Amsterdam...The competition for Gamboa might be thin unless he gets really gutsy and fights decent guys and fights them quick like one after the other from 126lbs to 130 and 135.

    My money is on Cotto-
I think a PBF vs Cotto fight will come together soon- PBF will win and Cotto will not surpass him but PBF will retire officially leaving the number 1 spot open to none other than the person he beat as Cotto goes on and dominates in his next 2 and 1/2 years of competition.
