1-All boxers want to fight him. Middleweights, super middleweights, light heavyweights and even cruiserweights. 2-UFC fighters want to fight him like Kamaru Usman. 3-Dana White likes him. He bets on Canelo everytime. He watched Canelo's fight during "his own UFC event". 4-His ex-promoter Oscar De La Hoya is obsessed with him. 5-His ex-daddy Floyd Mayweather is obsessed with him. 6-Jake Paul wants to fight him. 7-Conor McGregor wants to train with him. 8-Half of threads in boxing forums are about him. There are some obsessed trolls like Quina and Serge. Boxing scene is much worse than here. 9-Mexican legend Chavez sees him as his son. 10-Pacquiao entrusts his son to Canelo. 11-Anderson Silva is his fan. Canelo is carrying the entire sport on his shoulders.
Well he is the biggest star in boxing (in the Americas anyway, you could make a case for Joshua being bigger globally but less of a draw because he isnt working with crazy US ticket and PPV prices like Canelo is) As far as the face of boxing goes though, hes a pretty significant step down from Floyd in terms of mainstream star power, probably less of a star than Pac too. Maybe slightly above Oscar or at a similar level, definitely below Mike Tyson.
The biggest fraud in boxing. That many fall for the hype is testament to the intelligence of the average "boxing fan" (aka not actual boxing fans, just fanboys of men and manufactured hype). -weight jumping + cherrypicking -obvious drug cheat -card stacking (dehydration clauses, short camps etc) -fixes fights Shame on boxing as a sport. Not much different from a circus act or WWE
Canelita is a product, he already has multiple losses but his record doesn’t show because of corruption and should not be as popular as he is right how.
I find it ironic that the op doesn't consider himself a troll yet points the fingers at others. Anyway moving on.. It's a payday a big payday for anyone so it's hardly rocket science. A lot of fighters are not that concerned or already have taken a 0 so it maybe a cash out or just a big payday. It's also inaccurate to say he is carrying the sport. Joshua can fill a large football stadium with ease and probably gets paid more per fight. The only reason Floyd did so well was because of a very weak Heavy weight era. If Floyd had fought in the 70's or 90's he wouldn't have earnt half as much.
Literally half of your minute points are basically: "Everyone wants to fight him!" Wouldn't you want to fight someone for 10+ Million dollars after making 150k a fight usually? The other half of your "points" are: "Everyone bets on him so he must be the best!" Everyone bets on him because 3 things in life are certain, Death, Taxes, And you will never win a decision against Clenelo Mayweather beat the breaks off of him at near 40 and 1 judge still gave it to Clen
He has star quality and is definitely the star of boxing. There were other stars before him, there will be another star to take his place after he fades. But yes, he is definitely the face of boxing.
