The same way you/we all know about such matters, we read about them in articles of the day, we read about them in bona-fide books about said boxer ( so dismiss the James Fair book ) we read about the antics and mannerisms also from books, magazines, from the sports writers of the day, from the family and friends of said boxers, yea so books !! thought you might heard about them ? keep well buddy.

For an added dose of paranoia:

Maybe Willard's uppercut wasn't the punch that actually caused Bull Young's death, either. If they got it wrong once...

I see you can’t be broken.

I applaud your strict adherence to the first 2 rules of Harry Greb.

Rule # 1 - You do not talk about Harry Greb.

    Rule # 2 - Rinse then repeat Rule # 1.

That Billy Conn was just a small light heavyweight who got a shot at Joe Louis because he was the current 175 champ. Like Billy just got in the ring with Louis without earning and proving as a heavyweight contender. Perhaps the top contender.
Billy Conn beat heavyweights, good ones, before challenging Louis. Subsequently we can stop shitting on Joe for not spiting on Conn and knocking him down.
Conn was legitimate at heavyweight. I don't care what he weighed. He was a bad dude.

Whitaker grew into the Welterweight division naturally. He was younger and naturally bigger than Julio..I'm pretty sure Julio started at Featherweight. He was able to move up a few divisions but Welterweight was a stretch. If im wrong then tell me what other fights at Welter did he show he could carry the weight and compete with the top. He never even looked good there let alone win.
Chavez inspired fear. He had those brothers all moving north. Meldrick Taylor ran to 47 to avoid an immediate rematch.

Whitakers weight jump to 140 was completely planned. It was actually planned 2 fights ahead. After two over the weight tune ups and then the title fight at 140 he moved straight to 147, again by design.

Dempsey threw the Flynn fight by a few flash knockdowns that was prematurely stopped .. it appears from actual news coverage he was truly flattened and out for over thirty seconds.

Ali - Norton 3 was close and could have gone either way .. it was a bad decision, period.

    1. Jack Johnson was a "Defensive Genius". Not sure how clinching entire rounds is "genius" nor is cherry-picking weak opponents that are easy to muscle around the ring while avoiding virtually all of the top contenders.
    2. Primo Canera had 0 skill and only won from mob influence. Certainly not a ATG but the dude had stamina and could punch well for the time.
    These Probably already mentioned
    3. Willard lost to Dempsey via loaded gloves.
    4. Liston took a dive in Ali VS Liston II
    5. Johnson threw the Willard fight.
    6. Prime Jeffries beats prime Johnson
    7. Dempsey would have won against Tunney had it not been for the Long Count
