We're talking about skills. I would invite anyone who think the skills have advanced from Joe Louus era to watch the most recent fight between Fury and Wilder.
I'll give you all the time in the world to show me where and how. The only catch is you have to be sober watching the fight and immediately after viewing we wisk you off Shady Ackers rehab facility in Trembling Oaks CA.

How do you explain the fact that all of the people with boxing experience who responded to this poll (so far) think Louis had either very good or incredible skills?

Seems like quite an odd coincidence if Louis is outdated.

Looking at Louis alone from.a technical perspective,he's hard to fault. He was such a beautiful, crisp, accurate puncher. And economical. He didn't waste punches.
He had great patience, composure and determination.
Lovely balance. Great killer instinct and knew how to finish a guy.

    What's not to love?

This, from Anti Quote Man who also claims that he doesn’t bow or defer to simple answers (when they’re specially posed) and statements but keeps doling out simple, unqualified opinions all the same and in all contradiction.

This thread topic is *not* whether Louis was good "for his era." This thread topic is about whether he was good by modern standards.

It says so in the opening post AND the poll question itself.

People who box have unanimously voted that Louis was either very good or exceptional by modern standards. Every single one so far.

So the "for his time" explanation of the poll results fails. Do you have any other theories?

You do know that no actual evolutionary changes happen in 100 years, but are referring to development of abilities & training., not DNA?
People are taller on average than in 1942, mainly there are many more folks, so many more say very tall people.
You must be at least around 6'6"?

The U.S. had slipped back considerably in producing good heavyweights. It's not that the standards of the rest of the world have come up to compete with the U.S. as it was before. Wilder, Ruiz and Hunter etc. are simply not as good as the U.S. heavyweights who dominated before.

First you state “No reason to be detailed” and then proclaim “I don’t have to give simple answers”. So those two conflicting statements (parameters) represent the bookends (rationale??) for the hot air you spew in between otherwise.

Still not keeping it real Mr Money.,

well not giving simple answers usually means for my breakdowns which is from a point I started

for a response that im agreeing with most the time is no need for a detailed not the same thing there is no contradiction
    this is two different things
