How would this fight go ? IMO, Prime Lewis would've killed Frazier because styles makes fights, but what about a weakened version of Lewis ? Please no old timers bias.
Old Lewis fought at a high pace with Vitali for six rounds. Frazier is going up against a guy that is bigger, stronger and more accurate than Foreman. I agree Lewis was diminished in terms of stamina but in my opinion Frazier would not be likely to make it out of the early rounds. I don't think Lewis' stamina deficiency would be a factor.
Lewis was awful v Vitali far easier to hit than li or Frazier, Joe was better than anybody Lewis beat.
FOTC Frazier was an absolute fighting machine. He was a Terminator that night who always relished combat. Lewis wasn't wired that way. Lewis has skills no doubt but sometimes the little Dog who relishes combat with the heart of a lion can overcome the big dog who in his heart wasn't a pure warrior and Lewis wasn't. Frazier by TKO in 10 or less
I love Joe Frazier but I don't see him beating any version of Lewis. Lewis simply was too good at using his height and range to lose to a smaller fighter like Joe Frazier (as great as he was). While I think prime Joe was more dangerous that both Tua and Tyson, you can see the blueprint Lewis would use against the smaller Frazier. The 37 year old Lewis that struggled with Vitali did so because of Vitali's size, toughness and awkward style. It's not exactly apples to apples but Lewis didn't even lose a round to the similar sized and style Tua and Tyson.
Lewis. Vitali had an entirely different style to Frazier. Lewis still manhandles, drops, and stops Frazier, yes.... even the past it TKO6 Lewis
With these versions of the fighters, I would unquestionably pick Frazier. Likely getting a late round stoppage over an exhausted Lewis.
Didnt Frazier suffer far more damage then Vitali ever did? They had relatively close number of fights
Lennox wins joe was to easy to hit even this ver vs lennox being the best outboxer ever joe wasnt hard to hurt with big shots
