    Welter.

Took me 2.5 seconds to pop open a new browser tab and BoxRec that, and, because I was curious and felt like racing against myself using that as the control group, about 4.75 seconds to click through every page of this RBR in reverse until reaching this post:

Benn has the physical assets of his dad.....he needs to fight some killers before he gets in with the top tier but all the skills are there

    That isn’t an accident.

Everyone remembers the first Peynaud fight still?

It was nine fights ago against a part time French boxer and Benn was bounced off the canvas twice early.

I think they took fright then with their matchmaking.

Pacquiao fought skilled boxers though. Benn hasnt.

Let him fight Avanesyan before expecting him to beat a washed old Pacman.

Awww hurt your feelings boo boo. You may not but a lot of Brits do with numerous examples to count in history. Benn is getting better but the147 elite will stretch him.

Did he really say that? When? If he did he is a silly boy. PBC is good for boxing and fighters.

I'd like to see Josh Taylor take on Benn when TTT moves up, would be a pretty big domestic fight and should be explosive - I don't think Eddie would go for it though, given Taylor is a level up skills wise.

    No it isn't

Yeah I remember the first Peynaud fight, he clearly lost that one but to be fair it's crazy how much he's improved in terms of skill and technique since then and how much he's improved overall. Tony Sims has done an amazing job with him in that regard and there's a lot of things Conor does in the ring to like.

I'm not a fan of making judgements purely based on stats, but those are pretty damning. The only defence I could make is that I would imagine there are lots of fighters who fought similarly feather-fisted opponents for the first 20 or so fights of their career.

That said, whenever I see the sons of great fighters enter the sport, I'm always reminded of something Kirk Douglas said years ago, which went something like 'my kids never had the advantages I had. . .I was born poor'. These sons can inherit all the skills of their fathers, but they'll never inherit that 'do or die' spirit that pushes them that bit further because the alternative is unthinkable.
