That's perfectly fine. If Teo wants a title shot at 140...move up and beat someone first. That's what many other had to do.

Everything Taylor has stated thus far makes it pretty clear he is going to move up to 147 after honoring his mandatory against Catterall

So in answer to your "which fights would be better for Taylor at 140 than a fight v Lopez?" the answer is NONE - he's going to chase Crawford, Spence, Ugas et al up at 147.

 

Hey Teo lost his straps. Now he has to earn his title shot just like every other contender. Maybe fight Zepeda and win, then Taylor might consider fighting him. That or maybe wait for Taylor to move up, that way he can fight for a vacant title.

All the great dominant JWW needed to get tested at WW. A huge talent gap between JWW and WW IMO. Kinda like 118 to 122/126, FW historically is just much more competitive. Same with LW. Same with JMW and MW.

Hatton, Bradley tested themselves at WW despite being smaller.

Tsyzu, Pryor never really did and that’s disappointing.

 

If Lopez commits to 140, he will probably get Pedraza. Taylor will eventually fight Lopez, though. It's just a matter of Lopez showing he's worthy.

 

Teo needs to get in line and Josh is right he doesn't bring anything to the table.

Looks like Josh is looking at moving up anyway to add to his legacy.

It will be interesting to see what happens but yeah Teo and his mong father need to pipe down and get to he back of the queue.

This is good. I find it appalling that Teofimo Lopez and his clown father think they can just shove 140lbs contenders out of the way as if they are irrelevant and force themselves to the front of the queue. Want to fight for 140lbs undisputed? Then earn it.
