I pick apart a lot of HW resumes.
The reason Lewis stands out is because I regularly seem him being rated as a top 3 or top 4 All Time Heavyweight.

I think Fury would be a serious problem for Lewis.
Lewis didn't beat many good skillful boxers, nevermind ones bigger than himself.

I rate Lewis a lot higher than Fury at the moment though.
Honestly, if Fury was knocked out by a Rahman type in his next fight, we'd all be saying how severely that effects his standing. Regardless of winning a rematch.

    Because it's subjective.

But how many people do you actually see rate him top 3 or 4 all time. I don't see that regularly in the classic. I do see top 10. Lewis's doesn't have Ali's resume but he has a better resume than Liston, Tyson, Wladimir, Ken Norton, etc and a comparable resume to Foreman and unlike almost every other ATG Lewis beat everyone he faced. You might also think a guy like Joe Frazier has a better resume than Lewis which i don't agree with, Frazier has the win over Ali and other like Quarry, Ellis, etc but Lewis has a significantly deeper resume imo and if you want to debate about that im cool, Lewis has wins over Tua, Rahman, past it Holyfield, Bruno, Ruddock, Vitali, Morrison, Mercer and Golota.

What i do see is a focused Lewis's being viewed as a H2H tough fight due to his size compared to the significantly smaller guys from the past and his skills for a big guy along with his ATG resume

And maybe you think little light heavyweight sized guys like Marciano, Tunney, Patterson and Dempsy have a good chance beat Lewis but i don't.

    Again it's all subjective
Skillful ? He beat skillful boxers but im going to just assume you mean a smart slickster or just a big heavyweight that can get on their toes and dictate range like Fury. If thats the case than no ATG in history has fought somebody like that. But even then Henry Akinwande and Vitali are more comparable to Fury than anybody else on any ATG resume before him.

    These are all fair comments.
Lewis should be appreciated for what he was (as should Fury) and his achievements.
I just wanted to point out his 'resume' has a fair bit of weakness when put under scrutiny, which relates to the thread question. Lewis did enough to have a good record but it's his longevity and overall strengths in the ring that make him quality, rather than his opposition (which I think is often overrated).
Your points are good though, I don't really disagree.

Lewis ain't fit to carry Wilder's jockstrap. Ortiz would be the best win on lewis' ledger. he was smoked by Rahman. Let that sink in.

Wilder is 6'7" 240 lbs. of twisted steel. He also has the balls to stand back up and fight to win after getting decked.

Lewis hid behind his jab against Tua and was content to do the same against the shell of Mike Tyson.

    Fury>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.>>>Wilder>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vitali>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lewis.

I get it, Wilder is grusome to watch. But what Heavyweight isn't compared to Lomachenko. Do you see anyone rushing to match Loma with anyone at Hw? I bet he can't even get a call back from Crawford's people. Size matters. Athleticism matters. Heart matters.

Ali needed smelling salts to survive Cooper. He should have a loss on his record to a dude who'd get smoked by Callum Smith. His career best saw him come up short against the much smaller Frazier.

Lewis compares quite favorably to Ali. He KO'd Rahman (in the rematch) while Ali's answer to the very chinny Shavers was to get punched and then clinch.

Can you show me when Wilder was KO'd by a half-pint journeyman like Rahman?

Can you show me when Lewis slept anyone as good as Ortiz... twice?

Who did fossil Ortiz do makes you claim he'd be Lewis's best win ? Absolutely ridiculous. Just delete your account. Because Rahman KO'd Corrie Sanders. Ortiz KO'd Bryant Jennings :risas3: one destroyed Wladimir Klitschko and the other won lost a decision to a past it Wladimir Klitschko

Also you want to see footage of Lewis KOing someone who was as good or better than Ortiz ?
    For sure

Lewis didn't KO him twice because he fight Morrison again for no reason. Wilders only good win is Ortiz. People know Wilder is this generations Michael Grant except this Grant is 30 pounds skinnier, hits harder, and cherrypicks. History will not be kind to Wilder. That loudmout Piece of **** is a fruad of a 5 year champion

It's perfectly fine to rate Lewis #3 or #4 and a great many in here do. As a matter of fact some of the best posters that have ever been thru here have rated him in these exact positions.

Nah, he resume isn't all that.
a 37 year old Holyfield (who'd been through lots of wars already) is probably his best win. Bowe beat (and stopped) Holyfield years before.
If you have a list of the really skillful boxers Lewis faced, let me know.
