I'm not really digging the direct comparison between Shane and Meldrick.
I mean they are both very quick and explosive but different builds and styles.

Shane was getting booed by the crowd at times against Holliday who had him tired, frustrated and very defensive in the mid rounds after Phil took an early pasting and got through it.
Though this wasn't probably the "best" version of 135 Mosley as it was his first title fight and he was supposedly getting over a bad case of the flu. Of course Shane came back later on and comfortably out pointed him.

Chavez won't bend or wilt or run out of gas. It's just a matter of would Julio be able to keep the momentum in his favour to take enough rounds.

I think he could to take a very hard fought and perhaps even debatable decision.

I really don't feel we see a stoppage here. Shane had one of the best chins of his era, Chavez of all time.
Shane wasn't nearly as good as blending attack with defense as Chavez was but if he dedicated himself to not getting hit he could be pretty slick.

Shane was a beast at 135. Not as great at JCCsr, not even close, but at 135, I think Shane could have eeked out a win. Power would go to Shane. Speed as well by far. JCC getting cut up would NOT be out of the question.

The Chavez that showed up against Rosario was better than any version of Shane Mosley. Mosley was a great fighter, and, would make it a war. But, a war is the last thing you want with that version of Chavez. Chavez starts to pull away in the last few rounds for a close decision win.

Not sure how many cuts Chavez suffered at 135 pounds if ever, in the 1980's! Lol

And that means to you, that it could have NEVER happened. :duh Look at what happened when Oscar beat JCC. Shane was a heavy hitter at LW. It's NOT a an impossible scenario to envision.

But because I said it...you disagree.

He wasnt known for cutting until he got up to higher weight classes, mainly from the De La Hoya fight. This fight is taking place at 135 pounds, so what you do is you get the lightweight version of chavez from the 80's and you match him against the 135 pound Mosley and you break it down that way. Cuts...

Dont mention cuts then if you dont want to be called on it. Chavez fought 6 times at lightweight and fought for the last time at that weight in 1988. 2 fights stand out, Rosario and Ramirez take your pick.. cuts....
