Terry Norris is never known for being a devastating puncher at Jr. Middle and now you're saying he has Middleweight power? You stretch his power way too much. No one except Simon Brown said hit him the hardest and the only reason he said that becuz there's no other recognizable punchers he fought except him. He couldn't even knock Troy Waters out. Waters is a decent fighter with a "good" chin at best. When he took all of Terry's punches, all of it seem so dramatic. The commentators kept talking how Troy was still standing despite the being beaten up while Margarito gets beaten up like that everyday and no one notice how heroic he was. That's becuz he made it look easy. If Margarito couldn't knock him out, I highly believe it's gonna be like Leonard-Geraldo. Getting punished just to easily last the distance.

Terry Norris DESTROYED Meldrick Taylor in 4 rounds. Nobody had ever done that to Taylor before (including Hall Of Famers Chavez and McGirt). Norris decimated Mugabi in one ****ing round! And it was for the full 10 count, not a TKO. Even Hagler couldn't do that to Mugabi. The fact that he couldn't stop a guy like Jorge Castro doesn't mean much at all. Castro was only stopped once or twice in almost 150 fights. And those were at Cruiserweight (over 40 pounds above his best fighting weight.) This is a guy who went the distance with Roberto Duran, Roy Jones, and Cruiserweight titlist Vasily Jirov. Castro had an iron chin. And, why do you keep going on and on about Troy Waters when he was dropped several times by Norris, and, didn't even see the fourth round? These are not the works of a guy who isn't a big puncher.

This seems like a mismatch to me. I will always remember the way he ruined Mugabi with his lightning left and when Gatti pressed him, Terry turned up the heat and ended matter in violent fashion

This is the reason why Leonard could not really force the fight, because Terry is nothing to mess with

Margarito might be as green as Martinez TBH. Even if Martinez was green, the fact that the fight was THAT one sided shows how good was Margarito was. There's a whole lot of fighters who are green but wasn't that one sidedly beaten up like that.

And your question was Did Margarito knocked out a "decent" fighter at 147. I highly believe that a green Martinez is slightly better than decent, or maybe decent.

Meldrick Taylor is a light welterweight and John Mugabi is on the way down by that point. Norris couldn't knock out Jorge Vaca, a guy who was knocked out 21 times in his 26 losses and couldn't knock out some notably durable opponents such as Buster Drayton and Gilbert Baptist. I highly believe those two guys I just mentioned are way durable than the John Mugabi that Norris fought. Troy Waters was stopped but not knocked out, 2nd knockdown was off balance. Margarito took beating form better punchers such as Pacquiao, Cotto and Mosley. Cotto is a very very underrated puncher and maybe has a power of a Jr middle. He has quoted by Pacquiao, Mayorga and Paulie Maulinaggi for being the hardest puncher they've ever fought. And what seems like the hardest puncher to them, is a guy that couldn't dent Margarito. There's a reason why a puncher like Pac who fought such durable opponents including Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Clottey, etc said Margarito had the best chin. Norris whether a big puncher or not, his power can be overrated sometimes.

Margarito has one of the best chin in boxing and certainly one of the best in WW.

Norris UD, Margarito takes some serious punishment on the way to the loss. Terry feasted on Welterweights and Margarito, though he has some power, doesn't have the Jackson or Brown power to stop the onslaught.

Norris could crack. Drayton and Baptist were two very tough boxers and even Hopkins couldn't stop Baptist.
Drayton was only stopped 3 times in his career. Once at the start. Once by Jackson. And once at the end of his career.
Lets not also forget he went 15 with Hilton and was a primary sparring partner for HAGLER.
Baptist was a headache for alot of fighters. Strong,durable and he came to fight. Only two people stopped him - Parks and the G Man and they were both Middleweight.
Vaca was a weird fighter. One second he's beating Breland the next Roy is laying him out with one shot.
One second he's beating Honeyghan the next time he gets stopped. Very up and down career.
And I'm going to tell you right now Pac would get steam rolled at 54 by Norris. Too fast and hit too hard. Same with Cotto.
Antonio would be a punching bag vs Norris. And he isn't even going to be competitive.
Terry Outboxed Castro for 12 rounds and Castro is much stronger then Antonio.

That's why he I'm telling you he's not a terrifyingly big puncher. Margarito's chin is probably as good as Baptist and Drayton and I don't think Norris walks through Pacquiao in Jr. Middle. Margarito wouldn't be near getting knocked out.

The problem is Antonio has ZERO defense and Baptist and Drayton had defense.
And at jr.middle is Norris weight.
Steve Little was extremely durable. And Norris knocked him out with one right hand. And I've seen Norris knockout alot of people with one punch.
