“I like Amir, but his eyes nearly popped out of his head when I started talking about Conor Benn,” Hearn said to Behind The Gloves.

“He doesn’t want to face that young smoke, and that’s why he took the Kell Brook fight over the Conor Benn fight, because it’s a friendly affair. It’s a little go in and have a dance for several million, and good luck to them, they deserve it.

“But it’s different when you're talking about Conor and Vergil Ortiz and Boots [Jaron] Ennis. These are horrible, spiteful young fighters that come in to take your head off, and they won’t be doing that in that fight, trust me. Could you imagine what Conor Benn would do to Amir Khan? Oh my god. It would be over in two rounds. We’d still love the winner, but I don’t think the winner will fight him. This is it for those guys, and this is the future [pointing at Benn].”

Benn should talk about fighters from his own era… when Khan was 25 he’d achieved miiiiiiles more than Benn. Let’s be real

The narrative around Benn doesn’t add up.

You can’t claim you are a top 5 welterweight and in the mix for world titles. Then avoid all the elite welterweights and only face semi-retired faded names no where near today’s top 10.

    It's not comparable because

    Conor Benn didn't start boxing
till he was aged 17 and only had 22 amateur fights. And turned pro aged 20

Amir Khan started boxing age 11 and had hundreds of amateurs fights. Turned pro age 18

Benn will likely win a world title in the much tougher 147 division (than 140). A division Khan always failed in.

Hearn: It would be over in 2 rounds.

Also Hearn: This is a great match up worthy of your 24.95. Well Eddie your not really selling it to me. I’m not going to pay for it if you think it’s going to be over in two rounds lmao.

Can he not tempt you even with a STACKED undercard? Two other massive world title fights (proceed to find out its women's fights with one being Katie Taylor vs some mandatory).

"It’s a little go in and have a dance"

Wish I could hear Hearn's take from an alternate universe where he's promoting the fight.

Its very valid and destroys your point!

Plus everyone peaks at different times. So it's irrelevent that Khan peaked when he was young. He's done absolutely **** all for the last 10 years.

Based on what and against who?

He might win an IBO or a WBA regular, but the world titles at WW are held by the elite and the up and comers like Boots and Ortiz would destroy him. Let’s not pretend that Hearn and Benn are going to do anything other than chase has beens for the next couple of years and hope an easy title falls in their laps

Well Benn is manufactured product just like Khan was. Hearn will know when the time is right and when a title has a beatable champion and when Benns ready, and he''ll get home advantage.

He'd have a chance against Ugas now even. And Spence keeps talking about about moving up to 154lbs so those titles could become vacant.

Khan won Olympic silver when he was only 17. He was hardly a manufactured product.

Well hopefully Hearn will be looking to match Benn with a "horrible spiteful young fighter who comes to take your head off" instead of a has-been in his next outing.
