Mate it's not been the best of starts for you on here, you're clutching at straws when you're thumbing in a clip of Khan against a prime Maidana in a brilliant fight in which he won. Khan was younger than Conor Benn is now so if you are comparing the two, and of course you are, has Benn been in fights with anyone as good as those that have beaten Khan? I don't want to come across like I'm knocking Benn but I'm just talking facts and asking questions, Khan had the balls to go up in weight and agree to all kinds of clauses to fight a clearly drug cheating and way over a stone heavier on the night Saul Alvarez and up until the knockout he was boxing beautifully, really giving it a go. So far Benn has avoided anyone that hits, Ava has been touted for god knows how long and he's going nowhere near that fight although he was happy to have a dig at Kelly when he lost to him, he was straight in there. These aren't opinions, these are facts. Khan was actively seeking the biggest fights and the toughest fights he could get, he was game for Mayweather and when a poll voted for Khan as Mayweather's next opponent he was all over that, Mayweather not so much. People laugh but there's something in that, Mayweather's power was diminishing and he hadn't stopped anyone in years, as far as he was concerned Khan was a potentially very tricky fight and an opponent that he could genuinely look bad against. So while a young and prime Khan has a history of doing that Benn is still lining up and almost trying to build a list to keep him going for the time being of yesterday's names.

I'm not the biggest Khan fan, not by a long way, but I will always step in wherever to set rubbish right and way too many people talk absolute nonsense about Amir Khan, they skim over his whole career as if he didn't do anything and is out cold the second a punch lands on his chin but he's only been out cold once in his career and that was against a guy who was cheating beyond belief, using every single legal advantage he could get whilst using incredibly dangerous illegal advantages, way over a stone heavier on the night, basically going in against a Welter who could make 140 if he wanted weighing like a Light Heavy. Boxers get knocked out, they get stopped, it happens, especially when they take risks, especially when they're sometimes too brave, shall we start having a pop at Gatti while we're here, did he have a glass chin?

I get what your saying regarding Eddie's bollocks but surely with your boxing knowledge you can see Benn is still early in his career?
He's working hard and could be an exciting boxer in the near future but he's still learning..
Nearly every boxer sits there after a win saying they want to fight so and so next and claiming to be contenders.
Eddie talks bollocks and brags up his fighters but it's a money game and boxers with him will play along because they want the big bucks.
I think Benn will give us and the sport some entertaining fights and i for one want him to succeed.

I thought Khan was a very good boxer just a shame he liked a tear up but didn't have the chin to match.
He fought some good fighters and compared to Benn at the same age he was way ahead in fights and experience?.

Khan fans always overrate him.. says the conor benn fan. I don’t rate Khan THAT highly but for a boxer with a completely glass chin his achievements are pretty solid and he’s never been scared to go in with proper punchers the way benn is. Let’s see if Benn will ever fight someone and beat someone like Maidana, he might do but probably won’t

Some guys in here have got matchroom blinkers on. Benn probably beats the current semi-retired khandashian verson of Amir, but prime Khan from the Maidana fight knocks the kid out.

Eddie talks a lot of ****, even for a promoter. He needs a reality pill to show he's not a hardman. Like how fwank got shot and him and don king got flatlined by iron mike.

Fast Eddie is selling both Fighters and their next fights. By bringing Amir in, he's reminding potential punters of the fight with Brook. Basic technique. Called upselling.
To be fair to him, if one of my sons was turning Pro, I would want them looked after by the Hearns.

Khan has ducked punchers for 98% of his career get it right. We all know why he chose to face so many non punchers, yet still his chin is the laughing stock of the sport.

Maidana lost every single round to Devon Alexander! And lost to Kotelnik! 2 C/D level fighters. You're talking like he's this hall of fame P4P guy. When its not the case Lol. Don't forget Khan never chose to fight Maidana, he was his mandatory! They tried their absolute best to avoid that mandatory, He ran for life in that fight, winning a razor thin decision that couldce gone the other way, the ref definitely shouldve stopped the fight one of the rounds Maidana was absolutely pounding him and nothing came back.

I see this clown is back under yet another guise. I wonder how many times he's been banned and then resurrected now. Utterly boring.

@EJC83 I only skimmed through your post but you talk absolute nonsense . About ' clutching straws' how could I clutch straws when he's been knocked down or knocked out approx 20 to 30 times! To all level of fighters from low level poor ones to average to world class.

And your 'always fought the best or toughest' comment is hilarious. Khans resume is absolutely filled with past it shot names well past their best ( barrera, judah diaz etc) average feather fisted fighters ( algieri, malignaggi, kotelnik, alexander etc) and low level poor fighters ( molina dib mccloskey salita etc) .
And the list of fighters Khan ducked is huge, especially big punchers , loads of fighters have called out khan over the years cause of his high profile celebrity status but he swerved because they were in their prime, big punchers or he couldnt bare the thought of losing to them
