He's an underachiever but there's also a certain lack of intangibles that weren't immediately apparent earlier in his career when he was blasting through guys. It's always hard to pinpoint where a fighter's weaknesses lie, but with Parker it seems like he just lacks fire and a certain desire to push himself to be the best he can be. He coasted with Barry for years, long after it was clear he had hit his ceiling there, and I'm sceptical how much he can change things now after so long stuck in the same groove. Whenever I see Parker now I just see someone going through the motions, which is still good enough to get the job done more often than not, but he just seems like he lacks any sort of ideas beyond spamming the same combos again and again. Even a bum like Cojanu was able to read him and smother his assaults. That's just sad.

I far prefer Parker to go back to BOMBS AWAY

He has been playing it safe for far too long....

WTF are you talking about? I said if Parker loses he should be bounced from the top 10. I said Luis Ortiz should be bounced if he loses on Jan. 1. I said I like the inclusion of new guys Sanchez, Hrgovic and Joyce. And I said if Parker loses he should be replaced by someone like Yoka or Helenius.

What nationalistic comments did I make?

I haven't talked about anyone from the US until you brought up Bryant Jennings. And I said he isn't rated anymore and hasn't for years.

By your logic Ortiz should have been bounced after losing to Wilder twice. Parker already beat Chisora once, so not sure why having 1-1 justifies being kicked off the list.

He got civilized. Lost that desire. Don't blame him because if he looked after his money he should be good to go.

    This is me:
    This is you:
Sounds like some needle along nationalistic lines to me.

And if you don't think Jennings is relevant, as Kiwi-casual keeps pointing out:
Now I'm happy to say, should Parker lose badly, he doesn't deserve mention in the top 10. But a close decision loss wouldn't justify automatic exclusion.
Right now, you could switch out Ortiz (terrible form, nearly 3 years since the Hammer fight), Sanchez (top 30 win) and Hrgovic (top 40 win) for Helenius, Yoka and Wallin and no one would care very much, because those unfashionable fighters have done way more to be considered in the top 10 right now. Especially Helenius.

Do you think Chisora should be top 10 if he beats Parker?

The scores on eyeonthering have slightly narrowed since I last checked but most of the scorecards are for Chisora and 57% disagreed with the official result. There is a degree of subjectivity in scoring but Chisora landed far more punches than Parker according to Compubox. Even Parker said that he wouldn't have complained if he didn't get the decision and his coach thought he'd lost. But for various reasons the politics favoured Parker the first time around.

Which ranking body you like is just a matter of opinion, I don't think they have much predictive power. For example: your favourite rankings have Chisora above Hrgovic and a number of other fighters who would KO him within 3 rounds. Not only is Chisora now shot to bits, comparative performances never favoured him over Jennings.

Okay so you wanted to discuss Chisora's chin from the other thread. You don't think going 12 with Vitali proved much:
So you mentioned that Briggs went the distance against Vitali (they were both 39yrs old), so that means it wasn't that big a deal when Chisora did it (Vitali was 40yrs old). If I were to just look at statistics, age, boxrec, etc. I might agree with you.

BUT Power is the last thing to go, and Vitali was 39 against Briggs and 40 against Chisora.
SO I would ask you to compare the round 12s from both fights and tell me if you notice a difference (time stamped):
    Vitali v Briggs Rd12

I wondered when you'd re-appear post Wilder knockout. Have you finished pulling x-ray images from iStock to create another 5 excuses? I noticed you and LDBC stopped pushing the broken hand narrative as soon as I exposed your stock images for 'proof'.

"But, but, but Wilder broke his hand doe"
