Before this fight gets started I have just have to say ... that last fight set women's boxing back five years. Lozano was 9-0 but her opponents had won a total of five fights. Somehow, this amateurish pro was fighting for a world title. Not a good look.

After that excrutiating undercard ... nothing less than Matt Franklin-Marvin Johnson III will suffice.

These guys need to bring it.

If Beterbiev doesn't put him away it might be because he lost a step or two but it could also be a ploy to try and get a Canelo payday.

Anyone noticed how PBC sneakily managed to get their logo into a Top Rank show? Bob must be fuming!

    Was it on purpose?

Personally I think it's one of the best, if not the best, national anthems. No real damage happened.

Ok I’m at work and just jumped on Boxrec for a second to check something. On Beterbievs page it lists him as the #2 Lt heavy in the world. Curiosity killed the cat I had to se who they had at #1.

    Callum Smith……

    The **** you say….

Decided to have a look at this and see if that is actually true. From lightweight down through fly you've got at least a handful of talented women (though you might be hard pressed to literally find ten of them). In fact a majority of their p4p top-20 is drawn from that range.

Lightweight: Katie Taylor, Melissa St. Vil, Estelle Mossely, Jennifer Han, Heather Hardy
Super feather: Delfine Persoon, Mikaela Mayer, Alycia Baumgardner, Maiva Hamadouche, Erica Farias, Hyun Mi Choi
Feather: Amanda Serrano, Yamileth Mercado, Erika Rosalba Cruz Hernández, Jelena Mrjenovich
Super bantam: Daniela Romina Bermudez, Jackie Nava, Mariana Juarez,
Bantam: Dina Thorslund, Zulina Munoz, Shannon Courtenay
Super fly: Lourdez Juarez, Yessica Chavez, Diana Laura Fernández Ortiz
Fly: Marlen Esparza, Ibeth Zamora Silva, Naoko Fujioka, Arely Mucino

So that makes seven weight classes where you don't just have a titlist or two surrounded by complete incompetence, or worse, zero p4p caliber talents in the division. Of that list, though, a few thin out really quick past the names mentioned. Really only lightweight and super feather, which also happen to be the most stacked at the very top, have a vaguely strong corps of secondary and tertiary contenders.
