wont even be competitive. beterbiev is done. canelos movement will have him looking amateurish. might have been a fight a couple years back, now it will be obvious hes no longer near that level. sucks cause i really want to see canelo have to dig deep to pull off a win. hes had it too easy since ggg. i hope makabu at least drops him.

Oh yeah, power is the last thing to leave a fighter.

Hopefully we’ll see that fight at some point after Beterbiev deals with Bivol and Smith. Would be an excellent fight between 2 powerhouse fighters. I think Beterbiev’s skills are being overlooked while Canelo’s power are becoming more destructive.

I mean, look at the rbr for Beterbiev vs Browne and see that plenty are calling him on the decline right now.

Not seen a great deal of him but watching this fight I get a better understanding of the hype. I think Bivol is the better boxer but this guy is a good boxer, breaks people up with his strength and power. Not saying Canelo can’t win but he may need to ingest the contaminated meat by mistake again.

    Canelo definitely knocks out Beterbiev.

I borderline don't even want the fight at this stage.

I like him and try to defend Canelo but at some point there's a pattern of fighting guys past their best isn't there?

Idk... seems like it's another case of a name threat that is clearly past his best now and coincidentally now gets the Canelo fight.

Would rather see the Bivol fight almost at this stage.

That being said, obviously it's still a highly anticipated matchup and would be one of the biggest fights of the year.

    170 CW + 3lbs rehydration and Mexican meat = Canelo by SD, with scores 115-113, 113-115, 120-108.

If Canelo wants the fight he can make it. Beterbiev isn't exactly the busiest guy in boxing, I doubt he has other plans in his diary except going to the herbal tea cafe with GSP every other Sunday. Having said that, Canelo only fights the best at their best so maybe Beterbiev is ducking him or being a diva about hydrating his brain tissue before a fight.

Not sure. Keep getting proven wrong but keep thinking being a dwarf in size against these guys will come to see Canelo lose to some, let alone the best at LHW.

only good reason for the fight would be so beve gets a big paycheck before getting retired. from what ive seen of him he seems like a good man. but canelo is gonna make him look bad. i hope he doesnt fight bivol first cause he wont be around for canelo.

canelo stops him. ive got no doubt in my mind. he was getting hit with jabs that were coming straight at him and he didnt react with the slightest movement of head, or glove to block. like he couldnt see them. brown was even showing him the glove before throwing it.

Yes, Beterbiev doesn't have any boxing movements, head or feet. It feels like he does boxing as a hobby, he doesn't seem like a professional boxer. He solely depends on his KO power, has almost no defence, no movement. He looks like an underground street fighter who fights once in a while to make some money whenever he needs it bad.

what surprised me the most is how tentative he was when he would corner him right where he wanted him. wasnt trying to create anything, just stood there waiting for an opening to present itself. and it wasnt until brown went into his shell that beve started to unload. and even then there was no method to it, just swing away with every punch you can throw, except the correct one, the uppercut. of course hes gonna hurt you if you just stand still shelling up, the guy is strong as an ox. no attempt at blocking, no slipping, no probing, just rock em sock em style. hes never been a great boxer, but ive never seen him look this vulnerable.

Beterbiev will destroy Canelo in current form. Lots of “Mexican beef” and rehydration clause or Canelo will not fight him for another 2-3 years.
