Dave Allen vs Big Pricey. Took horrifying bombs from much bigger man and almost died but never went down.

I never saw that fight. Should the referre have stopped it for his own good?
Was Briggs fighting back enough that he seemed to have a chance, & was the punishment not enough to justify halting it-if so, when?

    No TKOed 3X.
McCall in far more rounds & fights until ancient against modern HWs, & 300 + rounds sparring Tyson, was never even off his feet.
WIthout being any kind of a defensive wizard.
Unlike Chuvalo no ambiguous incidents of whether he was knocked down.
    GOAT chin.

To be fair McCall had a great chin but he was legitimately held up by the ropes vs Akinwande and it should have counted as a knock down.

I did not know that. Or the rules there-when should a fighter on the ropes be called "down"?
Do others agree McCall should have been ruled knocked down vs. Akinwande?

It was a flash knockdown and he wasn't seriously hurt by it and went on to win the fight with a KO. Great chin on him though considering he was able to walk around hands down while a serious puncher like Lewis was unloading on him.

What? You do realise Wach has never ever been close to going down? He's never been off his feet, the 3 tkos of his career have been through an accumulation of damage, which makes his chin even more impressive.

Shannon Briggs vs Vitali Klitschko. Not sure if it's mentioned in this thread already (by me), but Briggs took so many shots without going down, Jesus!

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the French pastry chef Dahaupas took plenty of Windmill Wilder's bombs and also gave plenty back. Monster chin. That was a great scrap.

Frank Bruno took some tremendous punches, from some heavy hitters. I can't ever recall him being KO'd though ?
He is always seen as a fella with a glass jaw.
l reckon he just had little ring IQ & never took a knee when he often should have.

And who can forget the incredible thrashing Lord Fury laid on Wilder for 11 brutal rds!
Wilder's chin is 5x plate steel to have take that gypsy power for so many rds!

You must have meant it should have been ruled a flash knockdown-since it was not & he was never off his feet.
But I wonder how many time fighters like him used the ropes-would not have allowed/could have avoided a KO IF they did not know the ropes were there?

Do you think this applied to McCall?

Right but McCall fought far more, not even counting 300 + rounds with Tyson, until truly ancient, also never went down-& never accumulated damage that caused any TKOs.
He seemed unaffected when Lewis was hitting him with flush bombs.
But they needed to stop it because his emotional breakdown rendered him defenseless.

Without a doubt, the biggest chin in terms of size I've ever seen in any boxer.
