The disrespect that Canelo gets here is laughable. Canelo will be a favourite against Beterbiev and rightfully so.

1-Plant has better timing and punch accuracy than Beterbiev.
2-Plant has much faster hands than Beterbiev.
3-Plant only landed jabs on Canelo. He barely landed clean power punch. Canelo rarely gets hit by clean punches.

Caleb Plant comfortably pushed Canelo back and turned him and then countered him coming out of a clinch
Beterbiev is better and stronger than Plant and can do all of the above with much more regularity and brute force.

He is also not defensively irresponsible like people think he is
Look at the fight with Browne in slowmotion and you'll see Beterbiev tucking up, crouching and putting his hands up anticipating counters.

If Beterbiev fights Canelo by using the crouch and pushing Canelo back to the ropes, it will be easier to find Canelo's body than his head. Canelo will also find it hard to get leverage while being pushed back and smothered.

Canelo's best chance is centre of the ring and countering Beterbiev.

It's also very hard to push Beterbiev back to the ropes because he knows how to position himself to knock you out coming in. Look at his debut fight and the Prieto fight for example.

My prediction - Canelo loses by TKO despite winning the opening rounds and having the more eye catching work. Beterbiev will just wear him down.

He definitely could and would not surprise me. Ab has always been very raw and crude. He does not jab coming in and is very flat footed. However he does have punching power. And Canelo does not fight punchers

****ING LOL @ thinking Beterbiev would give a prime Roy Jones Jr. trouble.

It'd be like The Flash against a sloth. Roy is so much faster he'd see Beterbiev in slow motion like Quicksilver.

I am not even sure about that. Lemiuex probably punched harder than GGG but without the selection or accuracy.
LOL. Plant barely threw any powershots.
Yeah, because the fight will not be made until Beterbiev shows significant cracks in his game.

There are so many fools who do not understand the importance of matchmaking and career management. Canelo made one major mistake in 2013, he will not make it again.

I'd maybe edge for Canelo but every punch Beterbiev throws is a potential wrecking ball.

No. I see Beterbiev as a bigger version of Golovkin. What I've noticed about AB is he never really puts much on his shots either, he's just naturally really heavy-handed.. he's as good if not better at cutting the ring off as Canelo as well. It will be brutal but I would favour the Russian. Unless Canelo waits till he's 40… Which isn't that far away.

Neither Plant nor Saunders had the power to phase Canelo. It's why he was able to eventually break them down.

Fight hasn't even been declared so why would he make predictions right now?

Do you think Canelo goes out of his way loking for the most dangerous fights that get him less money? Stop being dense, Beterbiev will be a possible opponeny only when he shows significant cracks
