It would be a great fight while it lasted. I see Beterbiev dismantling him, he won't be harder to find than Browne.

Beterbiev needs to go for the other belts,he’s a monster but age sneaks up on all fighters. I would like to see him fight both C Smith and J Smith as these would be entertaining fights while they lasted .

Agree. I was high on Smith a few years ago but his career stalled and he went to ****.. no real interest in him now. The Canelo performance was pathetic. Callum Johnson would beat Smith, even coming off inactivity he actually gave Beterbiev a fight for as long as it lasted. He'd certainly put up more of an effort against Mexican beef too.

Beterbiev has a chance to end some of the hyped guys in that division.

Guys like: Callum Smith, Joe Smith Jr, Zurdo, Buatsi.

If he don't fight with Bivol, he should fight at least two of those guys.

Zurdo would be perfect for test

Yeah, Zurdo would be fine. I guess Buatsi will try to make the fight with Yarde happen, at this stage he'd get murked by Beterbiev.

People are talking about it because Smith is ranked as the #1 light heavyweight in the world by BoxRec, although Beterbiev could possibly move ahead of him based on his win last night.

Boxrec are flawed with their points system - Smith accrued nearly all his points weight-bullying @168 ... till the point he was actually drained and weak. Whilst Smith looked better againts Castillo, I think that Castillo was suspect going into that fight health wise, and Smith is just to basic to give either Beterbiev or Bivol trouble.

I give Callum Smith a better chance than Bivol. Why are people high on this Bivol guy? He had a completely insignificant amateur career and he hasn’t beaten anyone as a pro, he looks like a super middleweight and he just seems very average all round. That Richards fight showed how ordinary he is as a boxer. Beterbiev walks right through that guy.

If you can't make Beterbiev hesitant or stop him moving forward and pushing you to the ropes then you are getting banged out.

It does not matter who you are.

Pressure fighting is an art and the way Beterbiev turns and gets his hooks in and breaks your body down is something masterful to watch.

Watch Round 7 of Beterbiev-Browne to see what I mean.

Also...he needs no space to generate leverage for his power shots so brawling with him is just is stupid too.

    No doubt about it.

Somehow BoxRec has Callum Smith rated higher than Beterbiev!

Are you high? He was a decorated Russian amateur & has already beaten Smith , Pascal, Barrera & Chilemba.. Smith has looked decidedly average on numerous occasions against poor opposition…. Ryder, Holzken etc .. And his Canelo performance was pathetic. Smith has done nothing at LHW. His SMW run is tainted now too. Bivol is clearly a better calibre of fighter than Smith. He comfortably beat Richards btw.

Bivol was a decorated amateur? Maybe you’re getting confused with someone else. He never won a major tournament, did he even go to a world championships? Did you see Bivol against Richards? You call that comfortable? Bivol should be at super middle, and Callum Smith should be at light heavy. He’s the same size as Richards but obviously a far better boxer with more world level experience. I’d pick Callum Smith to beat Bivol tomorrow. I’ve never seen anything from Bivol to suggest he’s anything other than average, and his unimpressive amateur career supports that.
