Why is Canelo running away from Benvanidez but not plant who can't punch? It's sad and pathetic. No one wants to see him fight makubu who is just being paid to lay down and tap him lightly like Kovalev

Man, after today i would love to see this fight. Canelo has a great offensive arsenal and Beterbiev is definitely there to be hit but how does he react. He didn't ****ing budge when hit with Browne best shots, flush on the jaw. And how does Canelo react when Beterbiev eventually catches up to him in the mid to late rounds. This is a great fight to make, **** Macabu at cruiser, make this now.

I don't see the pattern you're seeing. Out of Canelo's last 11 opponents only JCC Jr. and Kovalev were past their best. If you want to include Golovkin I guess you can but he hadn't shown any real decline when Canelo fought him. As for Beterbiev, he's up there in age, but besideshis opponent having some early success (like other Betebiev's opponents) last night he seemed like his usual self.

I'm not saying that Canelo has been waiting for Beterbiev to get old... I'm just saying this will be yet another opponent who is being fought as he's starting to supposedly show legitimate decline.

Half the comments in the round by round is how past it Beterbiev looked.

It's just hard to ignore how many recent Canelo opponents are past their best and are 35 or older.

It's still an immense fight, but it fits a pattern, imo. Regardless if it's intentional or not.

Anyways... its the day after, and I have to say I'll still be hyped about it if they make it lol.

There will be no reason not to fight Bivol afterwards.

    ...

On a sidenote... it's sad that Canelo will likely have fought both Beterbiev n Bivol (fights that would have been laughed at not too long ago... including by me) before they have fought each other. Crazy.

Ya we see it differently then.

    BJS
    Kova
    Jr
    Golovkin x2

Were all past their best, imo. And those were/are some of his biggest/signature recent wins. (Besides jr)

And Beterbiev will likely be considered past his best as well...

The only real, truly prime fighters he's fought recently, imo, are Plant, Smith and I'll throw Jacobs in there.

I'm sure we see it drastically different and that's fine.

It is what it is. It's obviously still a good fight and if he fights Bivol after then it doesn't matter anyways.

Yeah i get what youre saying Kirk, but it seems like more of a pattern that whenever Canelo fights one of ESB's beloved fighters theres always some excuse as if Canelo waited for these guys to get old or something.

Canelo is the only Elite name really, who is continually being placed in hypothetical fights against the heavyweight champions of the world, Fury and Usyk! Lol. Its crazy when i think about how much this forum really despises canelo that there are actual debates going on if Canelo can beat Usyk at CW.

Canelo once he does what hes going to do against Mackaboo in May, he'll fight the Russians next no doubt about it. And for me hopefully its Beterbiev first, that way if he wins nobody with a logical thinking mind can take any credit away from him.

Thats why I qualified "regardless of the scorecards" the fact Canelo was ahead on the cards really fuels all the tin-foil hat theories there as Canelo struggled badly till Kov gassed IMO, and I had Kov 2 rounds up at least

Some of the angles Beterbiev uses to land his punches remind me of Lomachenko.

Canelo fought Kovalev two weeks after Beterbiev defeated Gvozdyk. What stopped Canelo from fighting Beterbiev after that? Alvarez would have gained 3 of the 4 belts.
Nobody asked for Fury, unless trolls are included. Usyk has been mentioned because he is going to fight at "cruiserweight". Nobody was asking for more fights at LHW until he fought Kovalev.
It is to make up for your undying love
I wouldn't call them "debates". Only a few deluded Canelo fans believe he would have a chance.

If Caneo fights Beterbiev this year Beterbiev walks through him.

there is a reason alvarez is hunting a cw belt rather than making an effort to become undisputed at lhw; beterviev would khtfo. brutally.
