I made the mistake of not scoring the fourth round as 10-8 for some reason, I thought "three knockdowns, 6 rounds lost, deduct 9" but on my scorecard I showed only a 10-9. Thanks for the correction.

Good fight. Parker has been contending for almost 6 years now, from his fight against Takam and on, this fight was the first time he showed glimpses of the talent he demonstrated as a prospect.

People were saying Joseph Parker had grown stale with Kevin Barry ever since 2016 or '17, they might be proven correct. It seems he's getting his better form back with Andy Lee as trainer.

I tnink Joyce beats Parker too. I think a lot of people dismiss Joyce as he appears slow on film what they don't realise is that he's very effective at what he does.

A bit like big George in the fact that he appears lumbering and slow if however he "touches" you then it's like being being punched in the face by the Hulk and ergo it's sleepy time.

Joyce has shown a solid beard and has a good engine. Yes he might get outmanouvered by Usyk but out of the others at Heavy he will be a tough day in the office for anyone including an unfit Fury.

    I disagree

Joyce respected Dubois power but not enough to be worried
Its how he fights, he knows what power he can take and tends to use opening rounds to feel an opponent out

Joyce is definitely one to watch I think. I know he's 36 but I think he's a fighter that ages well and as a consequence has a potentially long peak, a bit of a late bloomer. I think he's still improving.

His engine and chin are second to none. He's a high risk to any current heavyweight on the circuit.

You mention a familiarity with Foreman with which I agree in that sense. Just imagine though how much more formidable Joyce would be if he had that young Foreman meanness...

Weird fight chisora would look totally ready to go and parker would then be on the defensive at the end of the round.

Chisora had no legs after round 3 and parker still would get cornered and dragged into a brawl.

Parker in flashes looked terrific but just could not maintain

I agree he might not be a spring chicken but he's low mileage and obviuosly athletic for a big man.

I think the fact he looks slow on film aids him as others might feel they can outmanoeuvre him but with a methodical approach and a great gas tank he can work them over.

Yeah if he had that venom of a young George he would be an absolute wrecking machine. Hopefully he gets his chances seems like a decent chap as well makes it easy to get behind someone who isn't an arse hole.

Well it is for me anyway.

I think the Foreman comparisons are a bit superficial to be honest. He lacks the framing that Foreman had and fights with a much more relentless rhythm. He reminds me more of a heavy handed combination of Margarito and one of those Joe Louis era HWs with the weird ass arm punching technique and massive telegraphing, except he's clearly got a world class boxing iq. Really unusual guy, and I think he throws a lot of people off that can't understand how a man with his style and attributes can continue to be successful.
