Chisora landed many blows. Parker was very hittable all night. Parker hit the gloves of Chisora many times. Maybe the cleaner shots were from Parker; I'm not sure that without the 10-8 rounds a draw would be a horrendous decision. 5-7 Parker is not horrible either. Thoughts?
Yes he dominated . That uppercut was a thing of beauty and kept landing flush on Chizora chin all night long. Bang bang bang This content is protected
There were quite a number of very clear Parker rounds, which you couldn't possibly give to Chisora unless you're Micheal Alexander. 7 to 5 for Parker minus the knockout points is possible, if you give every single closer round to Chisora (question remains, is that actually fair?) 6-6 just isn't possible without giving one of the clear Parker rounds to Chisora (like say round 12) First 4 rounds were clear Parker rounds, 7 and 8 were clear Parker rounds, 9 normally goes to Parker too, and 12 was a clear Parker round again. That doesn't leave much room for Chizzo.
Did anyone hear Hearn's commentary yesterday, saying that Chisora's fight with Pulev could have gone either way?! While I remember people were shocked that it was an SD instead of a very clear UD for Pulev.
For what it's worth, Compubox stats were Parker 144 (120 power) Chisora 122 (110 power) so in the absence of the KD's it's fair to say that Parker didn't dominate and it was a highly competitive fight. Parker said going in that he would stop Chisora but despite hurting this lumbering, gassing and badly shopworn 38 year old pressure fighter early and often, he was unable to close the show, gassed badly himself and got hit a huge amount in return. Parker is not a top 10 heavyweight on ability. If his stock has gone up after this it just shows how low the standards expected of him are.
2 of the knockdowns shouldn't have counted and I thought Chisora won 7 clear rounds. Chisora should have been 114-113 winner on any unbiased card.
"Rejuvenated Chisora" "The best ever Chisora" "A nightmare assignment for anyone" "Career enjoying an Indian summer" "Finally starting to realise his potential" "Deserved a draw against Usyk" "The Pulev fight could have gone either way" "A new lease of life" "A couple of fights away from a title shot" "Beat Parker in the rematch, if not for the fact that he was getting splattered around the ring and knocked down three times"
I only gave Chisora 2 rounds. Parker won 10 rounds of that fight, flooring Chisora 3 times. The scorecards were obscene. There was a case for the towel being thrown in by Penfold in the 10th. It was a serious beat down by Parker, he is definitely punching with better technique now
Chisora didn’t win more than 3 rounds and even that’s being slightly generous I seriously question the eyesight of the people who think that 114-112 was a fair scorecard.
I had it a draw without the three knockdowns, but that doesn't make it a particularly close fight. He was hurting Chisora and beating him badly until he knew he had won and decided to coast. I don't think I like Parker's style at all in terms of judging though, because I had their first fight as 116-111 Chisora, and I thought Fa beat him, too.
