I wish you had included Canelo... Bob against him would have been interesting, I think.

 

Well any Supermiddle really Bukkake, that was just a few names I thought could be interesting fights for Bob.

I would take the granit-jawed Mexican to stop Fitz.

 

Any fighter that does not have a an excellent ability to take extreme power punches is going to have a tough time surviving against Bob Fitzsimmons, because he's going to land a good one somewhere, and in his prime years, any middleweight he fought hit the deck, usually for the count.

 

Would love to put Bob against Benn.
Fitz meeting a fast, hard puncher but who's chin could perhaps let him down here.

 

All of them knocks him out brutally. Fitzsimmon's one punch a minute technique and his outdated sloppy shift would not have worked against those modern fighters.

 

Just looking at your post cracks me up. You are comparison a boxer from the 1800's to a modern boxer? Each of these guys would destroy Bob in the first round.

As far as I know, Fitzsimmons used combinations plenty and wasn't low workrate fighter either... His outdated shift is still used by pro boxers as well.

 

It's amazing how much more common first round KOs are in fantasy than reality.

 

Bob would beat Benn, Eubank and Hearns. I think he'd lose on points to Calzaghe.

 

I think Fitz would do well there. Hard to predict outcomes though. Rules were so different
