It's santa Cruz for me because he failed to make any sort of comeback from the devastating ko loss but really any of the guys that didn't fight this year.

Ever since he left Abel Sanchez he hasn't done anything with his career.....just completely deflated. I also had Derevyachenko beating him.

It's time to hang them up for GGG or fight someone. Even Murata is a terrible fight....

Inoue, sadly. Based on his stratospheric talent and skill level versus his level competition.

Briedis is also the "man" in his respective division, though (if granted not as high p4p as Inoue) and, man oh man, is Mann ever levels below him. Worse than Dasmariñas, and even if you argue that he's better than Dipaen at least Inoue got in two defenses to Briedis' one (that was suckier than one if not both of Inoue's).

GGG - I was eager to see him end the year against Murata. Hearn needs to prioritise him more and get him a big fight.

Shocked no votes yet for Panya Pradabsri/Petchmanee CP Freshmart ...he fought twice and his opponents' combined record is 9-4. Even for a titlist based in Thailand, woof.

Oh but don't worry, guys - LSC is off to a far more auspicious start in 2022!

He's defending against Keenan "Bedo" Carbajal on the undercard of Thurman vs. Barrios in February. Yay!!!!

Gonna go keep it to the guys who actually fought in 2021. Disclaimer I dont follow below 122 that intensely.

Gonna go with Briedis or Charlo. Both guys didnt do much. Briedis stopped a bum. Charlo was meh.

But actually I'm gonna go with Inoue. I've said it for years that guys on this forum need to calm the hell down. Then I doubled down after old Donaire walked through his vaunted power. Then tripled down this year when he looked meh. I keep hearing that Inoue is this uber elite fighter. Hes an A+ fighter. No, not buying it. Not buying it for a second.

I'll pick gary russel jr. And not because I hate him, on the contrary, I do it because I think he's got real talent, one of the best fighters we can watch nowadays... and we should have the oportunity to watch him fighting more often. :(

Briedis - GGG - Inoue - Russel Jr - Spence. Only Dpence has a partial excuse due to accident complications. covid restrictions have also messed a few up.

GRJ and GGG because of their talent level, especially GRJ relative to his division. He has been a waste of talent for the past 5 years. GGG has been a major disappointment post Canelo II. He has wasted his time since then but I suppose he is just getting alot of $$$ for weak defenses although SD gave him a beating. Semi-retired I suppose.
It was depressing reading how many Champions fought 0x or once. That is really poor.

    Inoue for me.
But that's because I'm a big fan and expected more from him.
    Covid though, to be fair.

I know that folks demand a lot from the elite, but Inoue fought twice in a logistically tough year, and got 2 KOs.

Hard to call that too disappointing / hall of shame under the circumstances surely?

Hmm not sure I agree there.

Being forced into a dead rubber match and having your career stalled out for over a year instead of fighting for undisputed is disappointing for any champion.

Yes it was entertaining, but no one wanted the trilogy fight except for some fanatics with their crackpot conspiracy theories

Now to finish the year, Fury's team are threatening to drop the belt rather than fight a mandatory, which will only complicate the landscape for undisputed further.
