Toughest fight of Canelos career for sure. I think his skills, great chin, and ring IQ will make the difference when they fight. Beterbiev is a scary fight though..
I'm positive his management will never put him against Beterbiev even with a rehydration clause, I simply am asking who people think would win.
Canelo is just too skilled for Artur. Artur hasn't a significant advantage except punch power. And, he is old.
Why do these threads constantly come up? What is wrong with people? This fight won't happen next year full stop. What no rehydration clause? Are you on the crack? That won't happen either.
What are you on? I never even stated that the fight should be made under any circumstances. I asked who would win.
After rewatching the Plant and Browne fights respectively, here are some of my thoughts. Caleb Plant comfortably pushed Canelo back and turned him and then countered him coming out of a clinch Beterbiev is better and stronger than Plant and can do all of the above with much more regularity and brute force. He is also not defensively irresponsible like people think he is. Look at the fight with Browne in slowmotion and you'll see Beterbiev tucking up, crouching and putting his hands up anticipating counters. If Beterbiev fights Canelo by using the crouch and pushing Canelo back to the ropes, it will be easier to find Canelo's body than his head. Canelo will also find it hard to get leverage while being pushed back and smothered. Canelo's best chance is centre of the ring and countering Beterbiev. It's also very hard to push Beterbiev back to the ropes because he knows how to position himself to knock you out coming in. Look at his debut fight and the Prieto fight for example. My prediction - Canelo loses by TKO despite winning the opening rounds and having the more eye catching work. In the end, Beterbiev will just wear him down and stop him. Even the judges won't be able to save him because the work of Beterbiev will overtly be superior.
