Not Death, itself, but visions of the PROCESS of dying is probably the scariest thing imaginable to most people. But George is up there.
It's hard for people who weren't born yet in 1970 like myself to conceive of George Foreman as scary no matter how hard he could punch. Even in these old videos, you see the goofy grill salesman trying to put on an air of quiet menace. Of course goofy kids trying to act scary do a lot of the worst things in society, but it's still very hard to see what a lot of people who watched him grow up in real time saw.

Well it's like explaining The Exorcist to a millenniall or a prime Mike Tyson. Unless your there and understand the context of what came before then it maybe easy to dismiss these things. George was a bad man.
Yeah, I remember my dad's stories about watching the Exorcist in a cinema with friends and then driving home through a wood at night. They were all scared af. The cultural impact that something like that had in a still deeply religious society (with tons of superstious stuff going on) was something that you can't compare to a modern horror movie.
Heavybags back then must have had a different filling in them, as modern heavybags typically aren’t going to leave an indentation like that no matter how hard someone is punching. It kind of reminds me of the difference between older horsehair filled gloves and modern foam gloves. I love the sound those older heavybags made though.
It's understanding what was coming out at the time and in the recent past. My old man saw it at the cinema and he said there were women running out screaming people throwing up everywhere.. They had never seen anything that graphic before or the bad language and the fact it was coming out of a 12yr old girl messed with people even more.
