If Canelo fights and beats Benavidez and Morrell, the last two significant fights for him at SMW, where would he rank all time there? Top 10?

    Still lower than Andre Ward.

Ward beat a better quality of opposition.

What is it with Canelo nut huggers?

Yeah but he won't fight them so it's an academic question.

If he did which he won't but if ge did he still woudn't be the GOAT at SMW as you still can't get round the fact that the division is at it's weakest in terms of at the top and in terms of depth.

Most of the"top guys" in that division are untested or not very good in the first place.

Just having 4-5 fights in a single weight division does not make you goat unless that run consists of beating. Joe Calzaghe. Andre Ward. Roy Jones. James Toney. Chris Eubank.

Not just beating 4-5 B and C level fighters.

Jesus Christ I can't stand Canelo fans, so stupid it's painful.

    Canelo's fights aren't real at 168, they're all fixes.

How many millions of threads do we have to see regarding Gingers hyperthetical match ups that will not happen.

In summery He will not fight Beterbiev or Bivol for the foreseeable. 18 months at least for Beterbiev to show signs of slowing down.

He has no incentive or intentions of fighting any of the top dogs or threats between SMW and Cruiser. FULL STOP.

    End of converstaion.

168 is currently too weak to produce a GOAT level resume. If he cleans out 168 and stays long enough to do the same for the next generation of 168 talent then we'll talk.

If he beats both of them convincingly then it would help him but what he needs is to have a sustained run of defences to get himself into the Greatest SMW conversations. He’s got the talent but lacks the resume at 168.

    Still behind Calzaghe and Ward.

Roy is the greatest we've ever seen at 168 despite only fighting at that weight for 2 years. His performances against James Toney and the likes.... he was, in my opinion, the best there ever has been at the weight. He had absolutely everything and more.... the man should've wore a cape in the ring.

It's just things running in cycles.

Supper Middle has usually had some depth.

There have been a couple of years here and there where it's been very weak.

I just think we are in transition at the moment it was a good time for Canelo to clear it as he would have struggled at most other points in time.
