Immediately thinking of this fight, I visualise Shavers, sending Frank to the canvas, almost comotose.
But Bruno had to take some great shots before losing to Smith, Witherspoon, Tyson and Lewis. Non of those were feather fisted.
Could Frank actually weather an early storm and use HIS mighty right hand to win?

    Do you reckon, Noel?
Even Tyson took 5 Round, Lennox, was it 7?.Not disputing that could actually happen. After all, Shavers was a beast.
I had in mind, Frank beating him with the jab, till around the 7th, when Frank finally gets nailed good and proper.
    Any way, merry Christmas mate.

Of course he could. Shavers is too one dimensional and limited

Neither Tyson or Lewis hit as hard as Earnie although both were not short on power.Poor old Frank wouldn`t know what hit him.
Merry Xmas to you too Fergy hope you are enjoying a few drinks with your family

Bruno could slip and get knocked out, yes, but generally I'd favor him over Earnie.

We have to look at the flipside as well - Frank hit damn hard and Shavers was hardly granite chinned himself. So there's also the question of how The Acorn stands up to Frank.

Strue John. In fact, Frank could go out high on nerves and blast Shavers out in the first. It could be done.

The Earnie that fought Holmes might favour big against Bruno. Past prime Shavers has an underrated chin, he took clean shots from devastating puncher such as Jeff Sims and Bernardo Mercado and was not knocked out. Although he was knocked out by Lyle, He didn't wobble all over the ring like a drunk man but insted showed some good display of chin. I have Shavers on this one.

Mercado still stopped him. Mercado stopped him immediately after the Holmes fight and Cobb who was never a puncher stopped him two fights later. Jeff Sims never stopped anyone even quarter decent in his life.

You fail to mention Quarry who belted Earnie, who was coming off the best win of his career out inside 1 round.

I don't think i'd argue with either choice in this one. Both proved fragile against the best of the division and the odd guy that hung in there with them.
