He’s seriously lacking the size and power to become the best LHW. What makes this even worse is that he doesn’t even seem to try to punch hard or keep guys off of him. I respect his talent, skill set, and ring iq, but there’s gonna be a time where an opponent isn’t gonna be kept at bay from his taps. I know he’s a defensive fighter but even when an older Mayweather was lacking power his punch technique was still sharp enough to make his opponent hesitate. Will Bivol’s lack of power and killer instinct be a problem in the future?
Bivol put a clinic against overhyped American Joe Smith Jr. He's a real threat to Canelo. I think he'd beat Beterbiev. He's so accurate with his punches.
Yes, he's small for the division, he can go down to 167, even to 160, but that talks more for his talent. He's doing everytime the same, no matter who's against him, giving them 1, maximum 2 rounds with minimum risk and damage, make them look bad, without skills, like they're boxers out of top 50
Well Bivol is unbeaten so done ok so far. Bivol seems to do as much as his opponent makes him do, which might not be box office material, but i guess if its not broken why try to mend it. I will hold my opinion until he faces an opponent who makes him fight differently, then we will see if he can still prevail, just because he doesn't seek and destroy does not necessarily mean he cannot.
He's undersized at LHW and Beterbiev hits as hard as most Cruisweights....not a good combination for Bivol I just wish he'd grow a pair and face Beterbiev for a unifcation fight ASAP. He's milked the title long enough.
@UniversalPart Bivol and Beterbiev shouldn't fight each other. They should fight Western fighters and clean the division first. In the end, they fight each other and we'll see who's better. In 2022, Bivol vs Smith and Zurdo, Beterbiev vs Smith Jr and Buatsi, Then in 2023 Bivol vs Beterbiev.
hes fine he fights to the level of his opposition... the better the other fighter the better bivol we will see.
Bivol is very talented but lacks power at LHW, there's no denying it. I doubt he lasts against Betebievs pressure. He does seem lethargic at times, in particular against lower level opposition. Would like to see him fight better oppo.
