No boxer from that time frame has any chance against any modern skilled fighter. Braddock gets brutally knocked out by Holyfield

Braddock has no chance, but I don't see an early stoppage. Basically nothing changed on my view of this fight.

Braddock wouldn't win against the version of Buster Douglas Holyfield beat.

James Braddock was a very tough man by all accounts. He beat Buddy Baer and even had a few good moments against a prime Joe Louis. Therefore I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he’d give an account of himself against Evander. But Holyfield ultimately wins and convincingly. He was simply in a higher class

Joe Louis had to throw everything including the kitchen sink at Braddock and even then it took a perfect, bone crushing right to see a battered Jim off.

Joe was landing the type of shots that KO’d iron chinned Max Baer but Braddock appeared almost impervious to same through 6 rds though his face bore the tell tale Louis damage.

Braddock was awkward, super tough, kept moving forward and throwing at every opportunity.

He will have his moments v Holyfield.

Evander wins but likely not by KO or stoppage and not in the comprehensive fashion that Louis did.

Call me crazy, but I'd drop my life savings on Holyfield.

When Braddock reached world-class level during the year before his title-winning effort against Max Baer, he was a solid fighter. He could devote himself to boxing full-time and not have to take jobs between bouts which helped account for his spotty previous record. He was game, durable, always coming to fight and fighting to win. By the time he fought Louis, he was near the end of his career, arthritic, and had been out of action for two years. Still, he managed to drop Louis and make a competitive fight of it until stopped in the eighth. All that said, I believe Holyfield's youth, stamina, and pressure would give him the victory. I believe Braddock's boxing skill would enable him to go the distance, but it would be Evander's hand raised at the end of a busy fight.

Superior nutrition and training is a real thing with Holyfield, who was a machine about that stuff.

Yeah, I'm sure he did juice. But take away the juice, and he still would have taken up serious weight lifting using modern techniques and nutrition.

I like holyfields chances here very strongly. Stamina aint a problem for either so i see it going the whole 15 rounds with Holy winning in a competitive fight , but wide margin
