Fk off with Canelo.. Beating a SMW Billy Joe Saunders makes you pound for pound number one now does it? .. Saunders has been a joke on this forum for years , barely fights and has zero legacy at super middleweight, plant is a bum that hasn't fought anybody & Yildrim is one step away from being a cab driver in terms of talent.. Taylor's unification was far more impressive. I know it's not just about resume but come on…
The real issue is a bunch of guys with P4P talent aren't doing all that much. Even the guys I rate highly. Usyk decisioned a guy who got stopped by Andy Ruiz. Crawford beat a guy who's been beaten by every top WW. Inoue's best win wasn't BJS level and his other fight (good for him at least getting in the ring twice, Usyk and Crawford didn't manage that) wasn't even Yildirim level. Until someone better finds their ambition, Canelo is king.
Technically LOL.. The whole point of pound for pound is also to be discerning and not so literal so I think we can take into account he was gifted wins over GGG here. This was also years ago, isn't boxing a what have you done for me lately sport? The fact is Canelos unification was **** poor and the division is a wasteland. Yes it's not just about resume but also let's take into consideration he was dropping rounds to the likes of plant and Saunders too. He was swinging at thin air multiple times in those fights. If him Usyk were the same size I think I know who my money would be on.
