I agree with Ring on just about everything except for fighter of the year. I understand that Canelo unified at 168 this year but I just don't think those wins were more impressive than what Uysk accomplished against Joshua on the road. I get why some would argue against that since Canelo fought four times but I just didn't think any of those guys at 168 were anything special.

What a disgrace! Usyk should've won FOTY

A one-armed past prime George Groves coming off shoulder surgery seven months earlier is the best fighter any of the SMWs Clenelo beat on his road to undisputed. Let that sink in

What was their Robbery of the Year? Did Team Clenelo also win that one with Valdez vs Conceicao?

Usyk should won FOTY in my opinion.

Wilder vs Fury 3 fight of the year? It's was a very scruffy and sloppy fight with Wilder constantly losing balancing doing his bambi on ice impression. There's many fights I would have chosen ahead of this.

Lara should of won upset of the year against Warrington.

Estrada robbed yet again from winning the FOTY award. :ohno His rematches with Cuadras and Gonzalez were much better than the sloppy slugfests which were Zepeda/Baranchyk and Fury/Wilder. :deal:

That's a great list. The only one I disagree with is upset of the year. Although Kambosos beating Lopez was a surprise, we all knew Lopez was struggling at the weight. I saw some people going for Kambosos, I didn't see anyone pick Sandor Martin to beat Mikey Garcia (although some people correctly predicted Mikey would struggle against the southpaw).

Therefore, I'd go Upset - Sandor Martin MD Mikey Garcia

it’s the accomplishment on paper of the actual guys, although they are about as special as Joshua x 3 (of them)

The boxing establishment still sucking off Canelo... absolutely vomit inducing.. Caleb Plant & Saunders are dog **** SMWs that have zero legacy at 168.. imagine the **** a Euro would have got had he beaten them and was then proclaimed fighter of the year.. Ring piece magazine needs to change its name to give me a reach around ginger pubes magazine

Clenelo vs Callum Smith was in 2020 so he's been awarded FOTY for beating KO54% featherfist Caleb Plant whose best win by far is the bang average Uzecatat, followed by a shot Caleb Truax and your Subway Mike Lee's and Vincent Feigenbutz's of the world

Featherfist KO 45% BJS 2.0 whose best win at the weight is a shot Martin Murray, followed by janitor Coeceres who he went life and death against and was losing on most people's cards in the RBR if I remember correctly when he found the hail Mary punches to bail him out in the championship rounds and who was badly hurt by the binman Isufi he won the title against.

And both Plant and BJS 2.0 were fighting on a deck heavily stacked against them and stood zero chance of getting the decision and even less of winning via KO. Clenelo was a huge favourite in both those fights and he had a crowd of 70,000 rabid ginger worshipers/gypsy haters cheering him on and baying for gypsy blood against BJS 2.0 and a capacity crowd of 16,586 of them against Plant.

Unless that is you think a win over Avni Yildirim is enough to swing the balance in Clenelo's favour?

Whereas, conversely, Usyk was fighting on a deck which couldn't have been anymore stacked against him in a stadium full of 66,000 hostile drunken yob AJ fans against a murdererous punching K082% three-belt unified king who he was giving away huge physical advantages to in terms of weight, reach, height, power, strength and who could've sparked him out cold in the blink of an eye. Usyk won against all the odds, Clenelo won with all the odds, advantages and deck stacked heavily in his favour and even if he got outboxed he knew his judges would be there to bail him out again.

AJ has wins over Wlad, Povetkin, Parker, Whyte, Ruiz, Pulev, Takam

People like to rag on the HW division, including myself, but the graveyard SMW division Clenelo unified makes the top 10 of the HW division look like an ATG list

I vote Usyk FOTY. He moved up and dominated Joshua, in the latters backyard. That was a huge accomplishment once again on the road.

Its embarrassing .. Can you remember when they used to call GGG 'bumlovkin' for knocking over guys like this for fun.. these days it makes Canelo the best fighter in the sport ..

The current SMW division is so bad I'd give Roid Jones a shot at coming back & taking out one of them LOL

Juan Ryder paddled the ass of the best SMW Clenelo has ever beaten in Smith's previous fight

    Foty should of been Usyk

Moving up from cruiser and winning the HW title is historically difficult and he did it on road. It Trump’s Canelo accomplishment for the year. None of the guys he beat were top dogs like Joshua was
