If we use Brook v Golovkin as an example this site says both fighters took home $5 mil each. I think people would be surprised they both got the same purse but mad perfect sense for GGG as had never recieved so much prior to that fight.

That was from a sold out o2 arena and over 500k ppv buys.

If we for arguments sake say Fury v Whyte would do 800-850k buys at £24.99 and a sold out Manchester arena with high ticket prices as well as all the sponsorship etc etc I think they are looking at a fight where the pot can see Whyte take home £3-£4 mil guaranteed and Fury about £12 mil

I could be wrong but I think this just means the arbitration will continue and Fury will either fight a random or not fight at all for a while.

Fury’s ESPN purse alone is more than £12m for this fight. It will 100% be in a stadium - I think they may even push it back to May so it can be held at either OT/Arsenal, Spurs or something.

Your easily looking at 1m PPV buys and **** loads on top from Bars / Pubs etc, gate receipts, international tv etc,

Whyte has already been offered $5m guaranteed/25% split, plus Bob said he’s open to offer more potentially. Your looking at Whyte taking home US 10m and Fury probably US 30m + minimum

Think 70/30 the lowest you can go as challenger imo. Its a bad split and puts another nail in the coffin of the organisations.

You kind of get punished for going for the belts. I dont have too much sympathy for whyte because of the way he treated wallin. But taking whytes name out of the equation....and putting any challenger in...fighting 4 or 5 good names to get a shot to end up with 20 percent is pointless. Both could make good money...70/30 is more than fair to the champion knowing the fight will make good money. 80/20 a joke imo.

These organisations need to be disbanded. One belt. Boxers should actually take a stand knowing how corrupt it is...but while some fighters reap the corruption of it...on and on it will go.

So the WBC own rules stated that the Interim champion split is 45% and the mandatory is 30%.

So the WBC go against their rules and screw Dillian over again. That's the WBC for you.

1 belt would mean probably 90% of boxers wouldn’t get anywhere near a title shot though and the money would dry up that’s generated through the sanctioning bodies.

Suing the WBC was always a bonkers decision - I would love to know who is advising Dillian.

Rightly or wrongly, I think this 300k purse he submitted for his last fight has given the WBC the chance to use their discretionary clause to change the splits to 80-20.

I hope Dillian does a deal.

I think it's hilarious that people have actually been convinced that Dillian Whyte's been hard done by.

He's a mediocre heavyweight. His status as a "legitimate contender" was founded almost entirely on a dubious decision over Parker (who himself was coming off a loss and two dreadful 'winning' performances before that), a match that warranted a rematch which Whyte was not interested in.
On top of that, he was sparked out two fights ago by a shot fighter, and is currently on a 1-fight winning streak over the same shot fighter. We're talking about a 40+ year old, who also apparently was hospitalised twice for coronavirus between the two fights.
1-1 in his last two fights against a washed up fighter!
Somehow he was allowed one way rematch clause in a "final eliminator", and people say he's been mistreated!?

The chance to win the heavyweight championship, the chance to beat Fury, to become 'the man' in the division .... "Oh, poor Dillian, he'll only get 20%, he'll only be paid a few million pounds."

Crap aint it. I go on Twitter looking to see what fights have been announced and all I see is tweets about purse splits and court cases.

Since when did the Daily Star become the place for breaking boxing news?

I can't watch a fight unless I know the boxers are getting the % I feel they should be getting based on figures I have no idea are true.

    Makes the fight pointless otherwise.

I agree with the principle but unfortunately discussion about splits is relevant when talking about this fight as it’s the biggest obstacle to it happening.

I wish it didn’t have to be like that, but it’s just the way it is.

Interesting bit and FW said this a good few times recently. Whytes last purse submitted to the WBC was £300,000 and this is why the 45% was mental.
