As unfit for the ring 1980 Ali was, the fact that he was able to go any distance at all with Larry Holmes and Trevor Berbick, who would beat McGregor by manslaughter, has got to mean something, plus the obvious size difference.

 

No Ali did nothing in those fights he couldn`t even punch a speed bag in training for the Holmes fight and his speech was badly slowed, all he did v Holmes was lay on the ropes, anybody could have beaten him then.
