Luis Ortiz beat his ass in the 6th but he got knocked down twice by Martin of all people and was getting outboxed in spots. Even i was suprised by this. Joshua had zero issue with Martin and made him quit wheras Martin wanted to continue against Ortiz despite being on wobbly legs He looked horrible for the most part and against a bum like Martin He is overrated.
He looked good because he was in with Ortiz. A real top 10 fighter would've either schooled Ortiz or torn that ass up The is the same Martin that performed a quit job against Joshua in 2 and lost to Kownacki I tried to tell you guys that Martin was a bum and had no route to victory against Ortiz. I never rated Martin after he gave up in 2 against Joshua, he sucks
He looked better than expected vs Washington and now Ortiz. Maybe he has improved or at least on the surface. Both Washington and Ortiz are guys that stand off and don't make you move much unlike vs Kownacki where he pressed and at times Martin looked like he got tangled up by his own feet his footwork was so bad. I'd like to see him in without someone who rushed him and then maybe we see a return to the disorganised, unbalanced Martin or maybe we see this new Martin who has some basic footwork. Right now I'm not sure he has improved even if he has it's not by much he still makes defensive mistakes as the Ortiz KO again proves.
I think it showed a couple of things... 1) Martin doesn't have the chin to mix it up with the top level. 2) Ortiz was never really that good, he will probaby drop in most lists after this KO win. 3) Wilder's biggest win lost even more shine.
Both looked poor definately not PPV worthy. The fact is Ortiz hasn't fought anyone other than Jennnings whose only claim to fame was going the distance with an ancient Vlad. No I don't consider fighting Dave Allen a "name" either...
This aged well. Given the capped delts, Ortiz was running gear tonight. So, in reality, this was the bigger, stronger version of Usyk - right? Dropped by a jab, off balance from round 1 and even made his daughters cry. LET’S GO KING KONG!
Well, it was, wasn't it? He didn't go down, and stay down, after the first half decent punch. He was out on his feet and then kept fighting, which proves my point. But as usual, you're as thick as mince.
“He didn’t go down and stay down” He also didn’t respond to the ref when he asked him if he was okay and come to him - quit job? Nah? Nah. Quick, make that boot fit big boy.
As i have always said Ortiz was 1 of the most overrated boxer on here. I mean you can't rate a guy by beating completely nobody, as well as rate his power and chin. His chin is pure china, which just show how overrated Wilder power is.
