Can fury have any historical relevance being in such a weak era?

Most make Lewis look like a cruiserweight? He was 195cm and 111kg-114kg, lean, when he was the man of the division. He is without doubt, a naturally larger man than Joshua, who is a walking advertisement for Bayer.

Andy Rice Pudding Jr, a man of 182cm at the most, no reach and who is morbidly obese, held most of the belts in the division by battering one of the giants you speak of. Usyk, who has boxed at cruiserweight for the vast majority of his career, now holds the same belts.

 

I dont rate fury as high as some do . He had great movement and legs but that seems to be fading and his punch technique is very unorthodox but not is a good way. Had a great jab but that may be less effective as his legs diminish.
He would struggle against many of the top heavies in the past especially fighting as he does currently. Shame he wasted 3 years of his prime coked up and in the pub.

 

All that's I need to state si that Chisora is best opponent he has beaten after Wlad. That's sum's everything up.

Is that really saying much though. Lennox Lewis is obviously the standout amongst British heavyweights but everyone else from the likes of Cooper, Bugner, Bruno, Haye, Joshua, etc. are more of less the same good but hardly outstanding standard.

 

The problem with fury is hes only ever defended against one man. Tbf for my money wilders a good man but there still is question marks about how good he really is. Thats why fury should be making up for lost time taking on your whytes, ruiz,s, joyce,s joshuas as well as usyk.

People are claiming hes the best of all time etc. And yet hes never even had a title reign. I m a big fan tbh....but he really needs to build a proper legacy now to be considered amonst the best for my money and thats by consistantly beating guys in the top ten as well as the very best thats out there.

 

Fury is the best heavyweight of a very poor era. Yes it’s impressive how he came back but he wouldn’t have got away with it in any other era.

He needs the Usyk fight.

 

History will be a lot kinder to Fury once his career is over.

He beat Klitschko away from home and six months after a three year layoff, he took arguably the biggest puncher in boxing history to school and then knocked him out twice.

Without the layoff, Joshua would have had a career similar Dillian Whyte and Chisora, because Fury would have held all the belts and reigned supreme like Klitschko before him.

The only person who beats Fury at this stage is Fury himself.

 

Not only that, he was a decent sized underdog for the the Klitschko fight and an underdog for the Wilder fight, coming off that long lay off.

I remember on here people laughed at picking Fury over Klitschko, said he would get destroyed, no chance etc.

 

It is always after the boxers have set their careers that they usually get the recognition they actually deserve while being active.

Tyson Fury is one of the best heavyweights of the last 30 years.

 

For me, it’s not all about the opponents when it comes to Fury. Tyson is a top tier operator because he has all the ingredients a fighter requires. He has shown us this in the Wilder trilogy. His recovery, heart, fighting tenacity and skill set are up there with all the heavyweight greats. I am not saying he would beat them all, but he is a hard night for any fighter and imo is worthy of being one of our, uk, best fighters. This includes all our weight divisions, from all eras, not just heavyweight.

I think so.

His best win is a past it Wlad, who then a green Joshua beat. The same Joshua who got beat by an obese mexican and a cruiserweight.

His only other notable name is Wilder, who has a shocking resume, and only knocks out tomato cans.

But if Fury manages to comfortably beat Usyk and Joshua in the next year or two, then he can say he has beat every decent opponent he could have faced.

 

Rice Pudding Jnr was Butterbean in a previous era and no way Butterbean takes out any of top 50 when he was in his prime. Joshua will be the eternal laughing stock when people view the footage.

 

More people have laughed at your god punching himself in the face.
