1958 Ingemar Johansson vs 1969 Jerry Quarry, who wins and why? Ingo would be fighting the Jerry Quarry who went 7 strong rounds against champion Joe Frazier before Smoking Joe stopped him.

I think Quarry stops Ingo late with his clever counterpunching, unless he gets in a brawl which is also likely and Ingo lands the Hammer of Thor on him, but I like Quarry.

Quarry should win by late ko for me, but he could does need to be wary of the Ingo s Bingo.

Two guys virtually identical in the size stats. Quarry too sharp and too slick on the counter for mine. I think he'd grind him down inside 6.

Quarry should win but Ingo has a hell of a puncher's chance here...

Very few HW would have been able to put Quarry on the deck ( fewer still keep him there ) he had a very, very, sturdy chin, almost all of his defeats/stoppages came with him on his feet taking a beating ( Chuvalo aside ) dont see Ingo doing what better punches than him couldn't do, I see Jerry countering in the early rounds, then closing the gap, and stopping Ingo, one fighter that didn't faze Jerry was a big puncher. keep well.

He was jabbing Patterson well in their first fight. Quarry's defence was awful and couldn't fight going foward

I like Quarry by KO. Quarry was at his best against big punchers and I see him catching Ingo with a counter left hook after slipping that Ingo right hand.

I do think Ingo was a much better fighter than he gets credit for but I don't like the matchup against Quarry for him at all.

Quarry for me. Better overall fighter. Not as hard a puncher as Ingo, but he doesn't need to be. Quarry dismantled big punchers before and he would do it again, here.

Ingo had a pawing jab that was just used as a rangefinder for his right,Cooper said it was nothing. I repeat my question, who did Ingo ever bust up with his jab?
If Quarry's defence was that bad he never would have got past punchers like
    Patterson
    Lyle
    Foster
    Shavers.
Have you actually seen him fight?

    Patterson was robbed twice

The rest are ok fighters but they all played into his style

Maybe you have a point about Johanssons jab but he would still beat him easily with his movement. To answer your question about if i've seen him fight, yes plenty of times he's one of my favourite fighters. I have to ask you though what fight have you seen him come forward and pressure effectively? He was practically a punching bag on the front foot.
