Thank you! Just had to fix it up, as the quotation markers messed up on me as you can see.

    Sonny Liston:

"Williams hit very hard and he was quick"
"He hit as hard as I could but he couldn't take it like I could"

    https://books.google.com/books?id=9...hUKEwjz2eGWs7XpAhWIg-AKHZlGCKgQ6AEwAHoECAoQAQ

"two of William's losses came at the hands of Liston, who has said Williams was the hardest puncher he has ever met." https://www.newspapers.com/clip/51090697/sioux-city-journal/

"Williams hit Liston with a left hook that would have finished any other man It would have torn some fighters heads off." https://www.newspapers.com/clip/54152307/fort-lauderdale-news

"I went out to feel him out in the first round and he almost knocked me out. I thought he had cut my throat" Source: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/54153015/daily-news-post/

Only if you take their highest and lowest weights..

Ingo consistently weighed 195-206 for most of his career.

Big Cat weighed 210-215 for his most formidable years. Big Cat was much lighter and heavier at his book ends.

Weight won't be much of a factor here. Both men were very strong physically.

Unless for whatever reason Ingo decides to turn up trim like the first Patterson match and Williams comes in heavy like the Liston rematch...I can't see that happening as one guy was training for a fast smaller opponent and the other was preparing for a shoot out with a big man.

The fight is online. Watch it yourself. The #1 contender, prime Eddie Machen was brutalized more than Norton against Cooney or Morrison against Mercer.

Where's the video of Cleveland Williams brutalizing anyone other than Tod Herring?

Seen it dozens of times, one of the worst exhibitions of refereeing I've ever seen.

Prime for prime, I'd pick Johansson to win this one.
Johansson was an excellent fighter. But he had no longevity.

If you've seen it dozens of times, then why did you say my "lurid" description was BS?

    Machen could've been killed.

You said: "They had one common opponent Williams didn't KO that Ingo did ... Machen" ...

Then you followed immediately by "THE OTHER" common opponent they both had that Ingo KOed and Williams didn't, Richardson. Who Ingo blasted out and Williams didn't.
    :hang

Post quotes from Dick Richardson and Eddie Machen saying Williams hit harder than Ingo.

    I'll wait.

He could've been killed because the referee was a criminal joke.

He was beaten unconscious. Mercilessly. His neck loose and offering no support, his head ricocheting back.

Nearly decapitated may be lurid, but it certainly wasn't a "BS description."

Show us some video of Williams knocking out anyone rated.
