How many more times does Hrgovic have to be ducked before he becomes mandatory?

Seriously. Is there any comparable situation where a fighter was ducked so much that they just eventually gave him a shot?

Hrgovic has done nothing to earn a shot, but if others are too ***** to fight him then you might as well just give him a title shot? Or just announce "hey, who is willing to fight this guy?" And just pick the best option?

Stop being naïve - fighters aren't "scared" of eachother. Hrgovic is high risk low reward so there's little incentive for fighters management teams to actively seek him out as an opponent. It's similar to the situation with Joe Joyce.

    1. He is nothing special and will be lucky to pick up a title in his career.

    2. Dillian Whyte not getting a title shot for years is a MUCH more compelling argument than your daddy Hrgovic, who actually has no argument to make whatsoever at this moment in time.

    3. Nobody is ducking your father, Hrgovic, who has fought NOBODY thus far. Eric Molina is his most well known opponent to date and that was 3 years ago.

    4. You father is not even rated in the top 30 in the heavyweight division. What makes you so strongly believe he is ENTITLED to a title shot at this moment in time?

    5. No fighter has ducked Hrygovic thus far. None whatsoever.

    6. Are you really suggest the top 30 fighters at heavyweight are ALL ducking a current hype job who has not even cracked the top 30? There have been many bum killers who have cracked even the top 10 in a division. Please, allow your daddy to at least do that first. Nothing comes for free in life, remember that.

    7. Tell your father to work his way up the rankings and earn his opportunity at a title shot. He has been feasting on fighters outside of the top 100, hell even outside the top 200, at heavyweight. His last opponent is ranked 245th at heavyweight. Going by your "logic" 244 heavyweights must be ducking Hrgovic then...

    8. I kinda gather that your daddy is a real hero for you, the one and only. Well, he needs to show the governing bodies and his promoter he is worth the investment. Again, nothing comes for free and there is no entitlement in life.

When you're 150 years old you want to maximise your paydays

Boxing is a business before it is a sport

Which is why it's funny when Hearn throws AJ under the bus accidently so often.

If no one in the top 15 will fight for the spot just give him the Mando. I can see why the fights aren't being made he is high risk low reward and the money isn't there. Also why risk a loss fighting for a mandatory spot when we know the champs are locked up for at least another year. Hopefully the Parker fight gets made.

IBF just need to do their job and drop fighters out of the top 10 that refuse the eliminator like they did with Hunter so there's some consequences for not accepting a mandated fight. Eventually someone will take the fight as other heavies below get raised up into the higher rankings. Maybe Gassiev will accept a fight or perhaps Zhilei who has called Hrgovic out or even Hughie Fury if everyone else passes on the eliminator.

As a jobbing therapist, let me say this post is one of the weirdest angriest and most Oedipal rants I've ever read. Your rather flamboyant attempts to suggest OP is hero-worshipping Hrgovic has ended up with you sounding very much like a frustrated cuckold.

But back to the point. He's VERY high risk and VERY low reward. Parker might fancy it now that he's got a couple of L's on his rec.

Thank you for your diagnosis and don't forget to invoice me.

Considering the facts, the OP most definitely IS hero worshipping. Remind me, who is the highest ranked fighter that Hrgovic has faced so far?

    For clarification, here is a list of his opponents and their rank;

    125th
    246th
    128th
    No ranking
79th (Eric Molina, who was 37 years old and KO'd more times than Amir Khan)
    205th
    Inactive
74th (Kevin Johnson, who was 40 years old when he fought him & had lost 3 of his last 4 fights)

    121th

Hrygovic has faced only TWO opponents ranked within the TOP 100 fighters at heavyweight. TWO.... and somehow this is enough to get a title shot before anyone else? For the love of God, Hrygovic has not even earned the right to face someone like CHISORA never mind Usyk or Fury, both of whom are the real champions and both of whom I am sure only want to face other top fighters. Why would either Usyk or Fury even look in the direction of Hrygovic? What has he done?

Is anyone seriously suggesting that only 2 fighters within the top 100 at heavyweight were or are willing to fight Hrgovic?

He is not even "high risk, low reward" to the top fighters, because he has done absolutely NOTHING to even warrant a fight with anyone in the top 10, let alone the top 20 or even the top 30. The only "high risk" Hyrgovic presents at this moment in time is Usyk/Fury having to justify why they are facing opposition that is completely unproven, untested, ranked outside the top 30.... Yeah, that itself would be tougher than the actual fight...

When you have only faced 2 fighters ranked in the top 100, and those rankings are 74th and 79th, you have not earned the right to fight for a championship belt. Let's first wait to see if he can even crack the top 30 first.

If either Usyk or Fury faced off against Hyrgovic right now, it would be considered the worst of cherry picks in history and be derided for eternity. It would also be considered ducking the rightful challengers to the throne, of which there are many.

    Stop with the entitlement.

This. Top 10 heavyweights simply have almost nothing to gain by beating Hrgovich at this time.

Unfortunately nobody wants to take him on. Hunter ran to triller ffs. That big oaf is putting some serious fear into boxers.

First Ortiz now Parker. Duck and run. Yes the money isn't good and Hrgovic is definitely high risk low reward.

Eventually someone hopefully will want a shot at being mando and show the stones to fight him. Lets hope it is sooner rather than later.

But alternatively just make him the mando cause this refusing the offer to fight him is lame.

He is being ducked because of the SPLIT he gets in any fight

IBF says he gets the split of a CHAMP

    Thus no-one fights him

This right here is the correct answer.
Hrgovic will receive the lions share of a 75/25 % split which is insane for a virtually unknown fighter.
