It's obvious. There is so much more honor in Usyk's career. He does not rely on home cooking and hand picked judges. He does not seek a competitive advantage over his opponent by draining the life out of him or dragging him up to an unnatural weight class. He does not need special beef from the government. He does not need to wait for elite fighters to become addicted to Russian Vodka before fighting them. He goes straight after the very best fighters in the sport no matter what. We could go on for days. Even his in ring style is more honorable. Usyk brings the fight directly to the opponent with no clinching or dirty tactics. Canelo is by nature a counter puncher looking to capitalize on an opponents mistake instead of taking the risk to initiate the action. Even though they will never fight because Usyk is too big there seems to be a Canelo camp and an Usyk camp. Those who are in the Canelo camp are natural grifters. They support a grifter and can relate.
Canelo is just a cash cow he's very good at it and will generally get matched with people he can beat apart from Floyd and GGG. The difference is more a philosophical perspective. Usyk wants to unify the Heavyweight like he did Cruiser he's not there yet and I feel people are assuming he walks over Joshua. This is boxing folks and Heavyweight is more unpredictable than the other divisions which is partly why it's the blue ribbon division of the sport. I'm rooting for Usyk as I find most of the Heavies unlikeble as people and Usyk is dedicated to the task. I think it will be good for the sport and the fans. Canelo is a great boxer for sure but like floyd before there's a few reasons to have an asterix next to his name. We will need a few decades to get some real context like with Floyd to see how he is viewed.
People in Mexico worship Alvarez because he's a great boxer and a pretty white boy that makes nationalistic noises for the masses. Usyk is just good next to a better albiet smaller countryman. So he just stands on his individual excellence. It's all he has.
Well said. Funny how his praise make him hated by most canelo fans. these casual cucks don't realize you an like guys who fight each other. But no.... just gotta come up with weak excuses to hate all Canelo's former ops. My favorite is, "3G didn't fight who I wanted him to fight, I was a fan. But now I hate his guts because he didn't move up...." - ASSOL
Roughly about 60 Lbs & 7” of heights with approximately 8.5” of reach according to boxrec. if Alvarez fought (aka get his ass whipped & brutally KO’d by) Usyk at cruiser weight for lb for lb best in the world would y’all respect him then?
One of the big reasons I'm an Usyk fan is because he's fighting guys while accepting unfavourable conditions while other boxers go into every little detail to give them an advantage
Fanboy hoping to change peoples mind... Usyk wasnt thrown into the US audience at the age of 19, yeah, we get it. It makes sense to blame Usyks promoter/managers and the major networks, not the guy a handful divisions south that was given the silver spoon and beat everybody up with it.
Canelo is great, but he's not a heavyweight. Usyk is fighting in a division with giants (6'6"-6'9") and finding ways to win. I know he's a good size for traditional HW, but this isn't a traditional era. If he beats 6'6" Joshua and 6'9" Fury to unify, he's on another level. Canelo wouldn't have physical mismatch issues that bad even if he fights Beterbiev.
I always like to rag on AJ for being manufactured but then I glance over at Canelo. A useless pudding of a man. Got slapped about by a glorified 50 year old midget. No skills. No finesse. No pizzazz. The only thing exceptional about him is how boring he is and how bad he is at picking up a new language. English mothertrucker do you speak it.
