If Whitaker is in the mood, same/similar result to when Floyd took him apart. Gatti isn't close to Whitaker's best version - this is a non-match up.
Whitaker beats Gatti in every phase of a boxing match. Inside, outside whatever, just a complete domination. See Mayweather vs Gatti for reference. Now place Whitaker in May's position, fighting from a south paw stance and meaner.
Gee I dunno a c+ fighter with a lot of heart and chin vs one of the best boxers of all time. At 140 I think sweet pea beats him pillar to post until he gets stopped on his feet.
Pea was too much a boxer for Gatti. But I will tell you one thing: Gatti would try the entire bout to win. He wouldn't quit. Love how people call Gatti a C level fighter. A man who was champion of the world. Fought on HBO countless times. Sold out venues in AC countless times. Pay per view a number of times. Gatti in his prime could crack. He had one punch power and an iron chin.
Gatti has too much firepower for Whitaker to truly out-box him. I voted a draw. Really two fighters similar to one another.
The only real question is, is a pumped up Whitaker capable of causing enough damage that Gatti's corner retires him later into the fight?
Really George? Pernell is so much better than Gatti ,does he have more power than Chavez who Whittaker clearly beat and is far superior to Arturio?
