Why do people say that Hagler was cheated when he fought Leonard?

It seems like Leonard won the fight to me.

Personally it seemed like both had good claims to have won.
Apparently it ate away at Hagler. I just about had Hagler winning it, but haven't watched it for an age.
Either way, it wasn't an outrageously poor decision. We've seen some dreadful decisions before & since.

It's all abut perspective. The fight was
closer than most will admit, and since
Leonard is disliked by so many posters
on this site, their perspective is usually
    skewed .
I thought Leonard won the fight. But
I wouldn't have been upset if Hagler
    won.
Also Hagler was such a big favorite,
the assumption by most of the media
    was he would steamroll Leonard.
    When that didn't happen suddenly
    the fight was "fixed".
But styles make fights, I thought
    Leonard would've given Hagler
hell in his prime, in a prime vs
    prime scenario.
He simply matched up well against
    him.

The fight was so close but I've never seen anyone call it a draw. It's either 115-113 Leonard or Hagler. I just watched it the other week and scored it 115-113 for Leonard.

The judge that score it 118-110 Leonard was enough to say Hagler was cheated.

It’s been debated over for decades and whatever side people are on they’re opinions aren’t likely to ever change. I thought Ray Leonard narrowly deserved the decision but I wouldn’t say either guy genuinely “ beat “ the other.

It's usually one judge that's blind as a bat and
    creates a controversy. Prime example,
Chavez vs Taylor one, Giampa had
Chavez leading going into the 12th rd....
Chavez wasn't getting dominated but he
    was losing.
There's many different fights that can be used
    as example of that happening.

    No he did not.
All Leonard did was to throw some shoe shinning punches at the end of the rounds

Leonard won more rounds and the fight. Hagler took too long to get going. That's the story.

No fight contested that closely can ever be a robbery.

Horrible fight. Smoke and mirrors for Leonard. I think Ray won the fight the only way he could - dance and move, stay away, patty cake, never really engage, and use his quickness. Hagler at that stage of his career wouldn’t be able to win the fight. Wish the fight could’ve been 5 years earlier.

Hagler gave up the distance of the fight ,and the size of the ring.
He was the champion .Sheer Stupidity!
