Fury hasn't fought anyone of Whytes quality since pre- retirement in 2015. Whilst Whyte has fought superior opposition to Fury the past couple years (e.g. Povetkin better Wilder, Rivas better than Wallin, Wach better than Schwarz and Parker and Chisora better than Seferi and Pianetta).

Fury would not not be able to physically bully in clinch Whyte like he did with scrawny Wilder(we sW Whyte do the same against Parker).

Fury despite myth, clearly isn't anywhere near defensively solid as he was pre-retirement ( Wallin found it easy to land against Fury and Wilder throwing reckless wild punches even managed drop Fury multiple times).

Neither Fury or Whyte have a good chinn,' but it's clear Fury is the weaker of two (eg dropped by Pjakic, Cunningham Wilder multiple times and hurt by Flirtha).

I see Whyte fighting an aggressive fight in the way he did against Parker rather than attempting to out box Fury (like Whyte did when he jabbed Rivas head off all night and worked the body well). Whilst Fury won t the attempt to walk down Whyte like he done in the past two Wiilder fights (Wilder can't box off the backfoot in the slightest and is helpless when forced to do so but Whyte can as he showed against Rivas). Fury would instead revert to be ing the back foot, keeping it at range and attempt to out box Fury. However as we seen from Fury post retirement, his footwork is now where near what is used to be and he way more open defensively. Whyte will regularly land on Fury and 8 don't see Fury weak chinn surviving against Whytes left hook. I say 4- 7 round ko win Whyte.

Whyte argued about lions share if money in the rematch clause. I still think it was a duck, as he didn't want on short notice despite despite claiming otherwise.

Whilst it's pretty clear that Wilder ( mutiple times) Ortiz, Kownacki and Fury ducked there offers to fight AJ based on reasons for turning it down.

Whyte went 1-1 with Povetkin who drew with Hunter who drew with Jerry Forrest.

Is it possible that Jerry Forrest is better than Wilder too?

Also can someone clarify something for me?

If Matchroom win the purse bid (which is apparently on the 11th) can they then increase Whytes 20% split (which is complete joke by World boxing cartel) considering they have won the purse? Also from when the purse bid is won, what is the date they have to make the fight before the champion is stripped of his title ( the WBC will probably due what normally do and make it up as they go along)?

No the split is the split, however much the winning bid is fury will get 80% of that sum guaranteed. hearn could offer dillian whyte extra cash incentives outwith that if he wants.parties then have 21 days to finalise/sign contracts.

Why would Fury try to clinch Whyte?

Fury is 200cm, Whyte is around 189cm (real heights) and is much longer. Whyte has dodgy stamina, and is totally flat footed. How will he be able to avoid Fury's jab (which he can easily double up, and throw from two different stances, and follow up with power shots believe it, or not).

Before I go any further, let me know your thoughts on this.

No, Matchroom cannot increase Whyte’s split - he’s getting 20% as mandated - Fury would take 80%. Obviously, there is nothing to stop Eddie doing something else on the side with him, but this whole scenario, is financial lunacy for DAZN, and I really can’t see the Bosses sanctioning it.

Arum has already offered Dillian $5.5m US guaranteed off a 25% split. He also would not be subject to a rematch clause, which by modern standards is a crazy decision by Team Fury, but good for the sport and more importantly in the situation for Whyte. So based on everybody’s projected sales of 1m PPVs and other income, Whyte should be looking to take home a minimum of $10m off that offer.

So for purse bids at 80/20, you would have to believe, Whyte must be looking to get something like $10m+ from DAZN to better what he’s already been offered, otherwise what’s the point. They would then have to pay Fury at least $40m+ plus....so approx bid would have to be at least $50m..it’s crazy.

In all likelihood, there isn’t going to be bids next week, considering that Whyte is appealing the split which is a waste of time. Unless he comes to his senses and takes the deal on the table he will just be tying himself up in court.

I think it’s safe to assume he doesn’t really want the fight if it ends up going that route.

Dillian Whyte could turn down the deeds to the Saudi oil fields, and some of these people here would still say Fury ducked him.

It will be MILLIONS of pounds sterling.
The chance to fight for the world's heavyweioght championship, beat the man who is rated as #1 by almost everyone.
A fight that you say Whyte would actually win.
A fight that would propel Whyte to superstardom on both sides of the Atlantic.

Two fights ago his career was almost in tatters, hanging on by a thread, lights out at the feet of a has-been .....

It's absolutely mental that Whyte would turn down the fight.

Exactly. It's fairly bizarre mental gymnastics, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a certain poster on this board who hopes the fight doesn't happen. That way, he can suggest Fury "ducked" Whyte whilst also saying how almost every fighter in the top 10 would beat Fury (including Whyte) as "Fury hasn't fought anyone decent since 2015".

    To go a step further...

    @Mitch87

I assume you believe that Joshua beat a better Klitschko than Fury - is that right?

It just wasn’t a fair split Koogz, you look at Whyte’s resume, he’s faced anyone and everyone and the Saudis are trying to rob him again.
